THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
that the lands specified and described in the Second
Schedule hereto are proposed to be taken for the
purposes of the said railway; and that the limits of
deviation shall be those set forth in the said First
Schedule hereto; and in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred on me by "The
Railways Act, 1871," I do hereby fix the point or
commencement of the said railway to be at the
ground known as Fort Britomart, in the City of
Auckland; and the point of termination thereof to be
on the east bank of the Waikato River, within the
Township of Mercer. The Onehunga branch com-
mences in the lands formerly acquired for the Auck-
land and Drury Railway, near Penrose, and terminates
in the Manukau Harbour, at the Government Wharf,
Onehunga.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND AND MERCER RAILWAY.

Limits, Description, Line and Limits of Deviation of
the Railway from Auckland to Mercer, with Branch
to Onehunga, in the Province of Auckland.

MAIN LINE.

COMMENCING at the ground known as Fort Britomart,
Auckland, and passing along, in, through, or into the
following districts and parishes:-

In the Parish of Waitemata.
Ground belonging to the Harbour Board, the City
of Auckland, Parnell Highway District, the Auckland
Domain Board, Remuera Highway District, Mount
Wellington Highway District, One Tree Hill High-
way District, a portion of the Manukau Harbour
called Ann's Creek, another portion of the same called
Canal Creek, a portion of land known as Hamlin's
Grant, not included in any Highway District.

In the Parish of Manurewa.
The Otahuhu Highway District, Mangere High-
way District, Papatoitoi Highway District, and part
of Manurewa Highway District.

In the Parish of Papakura.
Part of Manurewa Highway District, Papakura
Highway District, and part of Wairoa Highway
District.

In the Parish of Opaheke.
Part of Wairoa Highway District, the Hunua
Highway District, part of the Karaka Highway
District.

In the Parish of Karaka.
Part of the Karaka Highway District.

In the Parish of Pukekohe.
Part of the Pukekohe Highway District.

In the Parish of Tuakau.
Part of the Pukekohe Highway District.

In the Parish of Mangatawhiri.
The Mangatawhiri Highway District, the Pokeno
Highway District.

In the Parish of Koheroa.
Lands belonging to the Crown, and town allotments
within the Township of Mercer, and terminating on
the east bank of the Waikato River, within the said
township.

BRANCH TO ONEHUNGA.

Commencing in the lands formerly acquired for
the Auckland and Drury Railway near Penrose, and
passing along, in, through, or into the following
Districts and Parish :-

In the Parish of Waitemata.
One Tree Hill Highway District, Onehunga High-
way District.
The limits, description, and lines of this Railway
and Branch are set forth in the plans, and described
more particularly in the Second Schedule hereto,
and which plans are authenticated for the pur-
poses of this Proclamation by the signature of the
Honorable John Davies Ormond, Minister for Public
Works, and are deposited in the Office of the Regis-
trar of the Supreme Court at Auckland; or within
the limits of deviation set forth in the said plan by
dotted red lines, being not more than 220 yards on
either side of the said railway lines, and passing
through or over the several sections of land and re-
serves enumerated in the Second Schedule hereto,
and all intervening roads, rivers, places, and water-
courses.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

LANDS PROPOSED TO BE TAKEN FOR THE PURPOSES
OF THE AUCKLAND AND MERCER RAILWAY.

So much of the lands hereinafter mentioned as are
required for the said railway along the line of the
said railway hereinbefore defined, or within the limits
of deviation aforesaid, as the said lands are described
in the plan aforesaid and in this Schedule.

The Harbour Board of Auckland.
Fort Britomart: Lands between high and low
watermark, extending from Fort Britomart to the
Strand, in the City of Auckland.

The City of Auckland.
The Strand and that portion of the lands formerly
acquired for the Auckland and Drury Railway lying
within the said City.

The Parnell Highway District.
That portion of the land formerly acquired for the
Auckland and Drury Railway lying therein.

The Auckland Domain Board.
That portion of the land formerly acquired for the
Auckland and Drury Railway lying therein.

The Remuera Highway District.
That portion of the land formerly acquired for the
Auckland and Drury Railway lying therein.

The Mount Wellington Highway District.
That portion of the land formerly acquired for the
Auckland and Drury Railway lying therein.

The One Tree Hill Highway District.
That portion of the land formerly acquired for the
Auckland and Drury Railway lying therein: The
Government Reserve at Ann's Creek.

The Manukau Harbour.
That portion of Ann's Creek lying west of the
Great South Road, and the creek known as the Canal
Creek.

Unproclaimed in any Highway District.
That portion of land known as Hamlin's Grant,
lying west of the Great South Road.

The Otahuhu and Mangere Highway Districts.
Parish of Manurewa: Lands known as Fairburn's
Grant, and section 55.

The Papatoitoi Highway District.
Parish of Manurewa: Sections 54, 48, 44.

The Manurewa Highway District.
Parish of Manurewa: Lands known as Clendon's
Grant. In Parish of Papakura: Sections 7, 8, 9, 11,
12, and confiscated Native land.

The Wairoa Highway District.
Parish of Papakura: Lands formerly Native Re-
serve, sections 33, 40, 41. Parish of Karaka:
In Papakura Village: Section 45.
