A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act passed in the Session of
years of Her Majesty's reign, intituled "An Act to
grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of
New Zealand," it is, amongst other things, enacted
that no Bill which shall be reserved for the signifi-
cation of Her Majesty's pleasure thereon shall have
any force or authority within the Colony of New
Zealand until the Governor of the said Colony shall
signify by Speech or Message to the Legislative
Council and House of Representatives of the said
Colony, or by Proclamation, that such Bill has been
laid before Her Majesty in Council, and that Her
Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same:

And whereas certain Bills passed by the Legislative
Council and House of Representatives of the said
Colony, intituled "An Act to abolish Forfeitures for
Treason and Felony, and to otherwise amend the Law
relating thereto," and "An Act to admit Foreign
Ships to the Coasting Trade," were presented to the
Governor of the said Colony for Her Majesty's
assent, and the said Bills were reserved for the
signification of Her Majesty's pleasure thereon:

Now therefore, I, the Governor of New Zealand,
in pursuance of the provisions of the said in part
recited Act, do by this Proclamation signify and
proclaim to all whom it may concern, that the said
Bills have been laid before Her Majesty in Council,
and that Her Majesty has been pleased to assent to
the same.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued at
Wellington, under the Seal of the said
Colony, this second day of July, in the

year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-two.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this
twenty-fourth day of June, 1872.
Present:
THE HONORABLE WILLIAM FOX, PRIME MINISTER,
PRESIDING, AND MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE
COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Marine Act, 1867," it is,
among other things, enacted that the Gover-
nor in Council may from time to time make, vary, and
repeal by-laws and regulations for fixing the fees to
be paid for licenses to be issued for or in respect of
steam tugs, cargo boats, ballast boats, tank boats,
lighters, watermen's and other boats: And whereas,
by Order in Council dated the sixth day of October,
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, and made
under the provisions of the said Act, among other
things, certain fees for licenses for cargo boats, ballast
boats, and water-tank boats, stated and set forth in
the Schedule to the said Order in Council, were fixed
to be levied and taken for the Port of Wellington as
therein mentioned: And whereas it is expedient to
repeal the same:

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Fergu-
son Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the Colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the
power and authority vested in him by the said Act,
doth hereby repeal so much of the hereinbefore in
part recited Order in Council as fixes the fees to be
levied and taken for licenses for cargo boats, ballast
boats, and water-tank boats, at the Port of Welling-
ton aforesaid; such repeal to take effect from and
after the day of the date hereof.
