running through that aforesaid section, and distant
about fifteen chains from the west side of the North
Road.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

RANGIORA TO NORTH BANK OF NORTH KOWAI
RAILWAY.

Limits, Description, Line, and Limits of Deviation of
the Railway from Rangiora to the North Bank of
the North Kowai, at Amberley, in the Province of
Canterbury.

COMMENCING at the terminus of the railway from
Addington to Rangiora in rural section No. 912, and
passing in, through, or into the following Road Board
Districts, viz., the Rangiora and Mandeville Road
District, the Kowai Road District, and terminating
at Amberley, at a point in rural section No. 4713
situate on the south side of the road running through
that aforesaid section, and distant about 15 chains
from the west side of the North Road, as the limits,
description, and line thereof are set forth in the
plan and described in the book of reference referred
to on the face of the said plan, and which plan
and book are authenticated for the purposes of the
Proclamation by the signature of the Honorable
William Gisborne, the Minister acting for the
Minister for Public Works, and are deposited
in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme
Court at Christchurch, or within the limits of
deviation set forth on the said plan by dotted red
lines, being not more than 110 yards on either side
of the said line, and passing through or over the
several sections of land, roads, reserves, places, and
watercourses enumerated in the Second Schedule
hereto.

SECOND SCHEDULE, OR BOOK OF REFERENCE.
Lands proposed to be taken for the purposes of the
Rangiora to North Bank of North Kowai Railway.

So much of the lands hereinafter mentioned as are
required for the said railway along the line of the said
railway hereinbefore defined, or within the limits of
deviation aforesaid, as the said lands are described
and defined in the plan and book of reference afore-
said.

RANGIORA AND MANDEVILLE ROAD DISTRICT.
Rural sections numbered 387, 358, 316, 349, 793,
463, 386, 435, 511, 1197; reserve numbered 132 (in
red); rural sections numbered 2673, 1179, 1684; the
River Ashley, and all intervening roads and streams.

KOWAI ROAD DISTRICT.
The River Ashley; rural sections numbered 4454,
1294, 2777, now subdivided into Ashley Township
allotments; the Upper Sefton Road; rural sections
numbered 1996, 5330, 6761, 7411, 7913, 7914, 13622,
9290, 2874, 2875, 2843, 2882, 4783, 7739, 6708,
7813; reserve numbered 259 (in red); rural sections
numbered 9879, 10205, 2422, 2137, 2096, 2112, 2167,
11037, 2305, 2309; reserve numbered 376 (in red);
the Upper Sefton Road; the Railway Reserve, 3
chains wide; rural sections numbered 2943, 2610,
10918, 7359, 6992, 2611, 2883, 2990, 6933, 7988,
4713; and all intervening roads, streams, and rivers.

Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-

this twenty-second day of April, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-two.

IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose
vested by "The Westland Waste Lands Act,
1870," I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor
of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the sale of the
land described in the Schedule hereto, to Thomas
Williams Bruce, at the rate of ten shillings per acre.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the County of Westland,
situated between the Teremakau River and Lake
Brunner, to the eastward of the Hohonu Range,
containing two thousand five hundred acres, more or
less, bounded on the Northward by a straight
line; on the Westward by the Orangipuku River
and straight lines; on the Southward by straight
lines; and on the Eastward by the Poerua Lake, by
a branch of the Orangipuku River, and by straight
lines; and comprising all the open land known as
the Big Paddock and Little Paddock, exclusive of
roads and other necessary reserves, and subject to
survey and gold-workings.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued at
Wellington, this fifteenth day of April,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-two.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1870," it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor, by Warrant under his hand,
from time to time to appoint Polling Places for each
Electoral District, within or within one mile of the
limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such Polling
Places to be the Principal Polling Place for the
District, and all or any of such Polling Places from
time to time to abolish, and, if he think fit, to appoint
other Polling Places in lieu of those abolished, and
that every such Warrant shall be published in the
New Zealand Gazette: Provided always that no
Polling Place shall be appointed by the Governor
under the said Act unless he shall be first satisfied
that the place to be appointed is more convenient
than any other for at least twenty electors to record
their votes thereat:

And whereas by Warrant under the hand of the
Governor, bearing date the eleventh day of Septem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one,
the School House at Little Race Course Hill was
appointed a Polling Place for the District of Coleridge,
for the election of Members of the House of Repre-
sentatives :

And whereas it is expedient to abolish the same:
Now know ye that I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said Act,
do hereby abolish the above-named Polling Place for
