than five, of which the Board of the District shall be
constituted: And it is further enacted that so soon
as the full number of Members of a Board has been
filled up, as provided by the said Act, the Super-
intendent shall, by Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette and the Gazette of the Province, declare the
Board to be duly constituted: And whereas by a Reso-
lution passed by the Provincial Council on the fifth day
of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
two, it was decided that a part of the Province as
therein described should be constituted a district for
the purposes of the said Act, under the name of the
"North Rakaia District," and that the Board of
Conservators for the said district should consist of
five members: And whereas the full number of
the Members of the Board has been filled up, as pro-
vided by the said Act:
Now therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superin-
tendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance
of the powers so vested in me as aforesaid, do hereby
declare the Board of Conservators for the North
Rakaia District to be duly constituted.
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this
ninth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-two.
