ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of November, 1871.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the seventeenth section of "The
Public Revenues Act, 1867," it is provided
that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council
to direct that any money in the Public Account to
credit of the Public Trust Fund shall be invested at
interest with any bank or banks, or otherwise, upon
such terms, and at such interest, and for such periods,
as the Colonial Treasurer shall think fit:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of New Zealand, doth hereby direct that the
sum of ninety thousand pounds, out of the moneys
in the Public Account to the credit of the Public
Trust Fund, shall be invested in Treasury Bills issued
under "The Treasury Bills Act, 1871."

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council made the
twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette of the twelth day of April in the
same year, after reciting the second section of "The
Public Debts Sinking Funds Act Amendment Act,
1869," His Excellency the Governor, in exercise and
pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling him
in that behalf, and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council, did order that the several
Sinking Funds created for the payment of the Loans
raised under "The Canterbury Loan Act Ordinance,
1856," "The Canterbury Loan Act, 1860," and "The
Canterbury Loan Ordinance, 1862," respectively,
should be exempted from the management of the
Commissioners appointed under "The New Zealand
Sinking Funds Act, 1868:" And whereas by "The
Public Debts Sinking Funds Act Amendment Act,
1871," it is among other things enacted that it shall
be lawful for the Governor, by an Order in Council
published in the New Zealand Gazette, from and after
a day to be named in such order, to revoke any Order
in Council heretofore made under the authority of
the second section of "The Public Debts Sinking
Funds Act Amendment Act, 1869:" And whereas
it is expedient that, from and after the day herein-
after appointed, the hereinbefore in part recited
Order in Council should be revoked:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance
of the authority in him vested by "The Public Debts
Sinking Funds Act Amendment Act, 1871," and by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Colony, doth hereby order and
declare that, from and after the sixth day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one,
the hereinbefore in part recited Order in Council,
made under the authority of the second section of
"The Public Debts Sinking Funds Act Amendment
Act, 1869," shall be and the same is hereby revoked.
