At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of July, 1871.

THE HONORABLE THE PREMIER, PRESIDING, AND
MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Deeds Regis-
tration Act, 1868," it is enacted that the County of
Westland, and every Province of the Colony, shall
each respectively be a Registration District for the
purposes of the said Act, provided that the Governor
in Council may from time to time define and alter
the limits of any Registration District, and may
create new Registration Districts:

And whereas it is expedient to extend the limits of
the Deeds Registration District of Wellington, so as
to comprise therein the Islands known as the Chatham
Islands:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in him by the said recited Act, and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of New
Zealand, doth hereby order that from and after the
first day of September next, the limits of the
Deeds Registration District of Wellington shall be
extended so as to comprise therein the said Islands
known as the Chatham Islands.
