LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.

WHEREAS the persons named at foot hereof
have each respectively for himself made
application to have the land set forth and de-
scribed after his name brought under the operation of
"The Land Transfer Act, 1870:" Notice is hereby
given, that unless caveat be lodged with the District
Land Registrar of the District of Otago, by some
person having estate or interest in the said lands,
on or before the date herein below for each case
specified, the said pieces of land will be brought
under the operation of the said Act as by law
directed. Diagrams delineating these parcels of land
may be inspected at this Office.

JOSIAH TUTCHEN, of Dunedin, Gentleman.-

ROBERT CAMPBELL the younger, of Otekaike
Station, Runholder. -Section 20, Block VII., Maru-

WHEREAS the persons named at foot hereof have

Act, 1870:" Notice is hereby given, that unless caveat
be lodged with the District Land Registrar of the
District of Southland, by some person having estate
or interest in the said lands, on or before the date
herein below for each case specified, the said pieces
of land will be brought under the operation of the
said Act as by law directed. Diagrams delineating
these parcels of land may be inspected at this office.

DENNIS LYNCH, of Invercargill, in the Pro-
vince of Otago, Labourer. -Section forty-two (42),
Block twenty (XX.), Invercargill Hundred.

BENJAMIN DAVID HIBBARD, of Tokomai-
riro, in the Province of Otago aforesaid, Merchant. -
Section twenty-one (21), Block sixty-four (LXIV.),
Town of Invercargill.

Caveats in each case must be lodged within one
calendar month after the gazetting of this notice.

Dated this 10th day of July, 1871, at the Lands

PATENT FOR DRESSING THE PHORMIUM TENAX
OR NEW ZEALAND FLAX BY THE RUBBING
OR FRICTION PRINCIPLE.

THIS is to notify, that John Corbett White, of
Auckland, in the Province of Auckland, did on
the seventeenth day of July, 1871, deposit at the
Office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secre-
tary's Office, in Wellington, a specification or
instrument in writing, under his hand and seal,
particularly describing and ascertaining the nature
of the said Invention, and in what manner the same
is to be performed; and that by reason of such
deposit the said Invention is protected and secured
to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months
thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said John Corbett
White has given notice in writing at my Office of his
intention to proceed with his application for Letters
Patent for the said Invention, and that I have
appointed Friday, the fifteenth day of December
next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my Office,
to hear and consider the said application and all
objections thereto. And I do hereby require all per-
sons having an interest in opposing the grant of such
Letters Patent to leave, on or before the eleventh
day of December next, at my Office in Wellington,
particulars in writing of their objections to the said
application, otherwise they will be precluded from
urging the same.

Given under my hand, this eighteenth day of
July, 1871.

NOTICE is hereby given, that at an Extraordinary
General Meeting of the Shareholders of "The
New Plymouth Lighter Company, Limited," held on
the 8th of July, 1871, it was resolved, "That the
affairs of the Company have been duly wound up."
