G. F. BOWEN, Governor.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Waste
Lands Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall
be lawful for the Governor, under his hand and the
Public Seal of the Colony, from time to time to
delegate to the Superintendent of any Province, or
to such other person as the Governor may think fit,
all or any of the powers vested in the Governor by
sections three, four, and five, and also by section
fourteen of the said Act, subject or not to any
limitations or restrictions as he may think fit, and in
like manner to revoke any such powers:

Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
said power and authority, do hereby delegate unto

WILLIAM FITZHERBERT, Esquire,

the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington,
all such powers as are vested in me by the third,
fourth, and fifth sections of the said Act, so far as
concerns the Waste Lands of the Crown within the
said Province, to be exercised within the limits of the
said Province, without any limitation or restriction
whatever.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, at Auckland; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
this twelfth day of July, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-one.

having been laid before the Governor, His Excel-
lency has not been advised to exercise his power of
disallowance in respect of them.

Licensing Act, 1871;"

"The Hawke's Bay Grammar School Act Repeal
Act, 1871;" and

"The Napier School Act, 1871;"

having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency
has been pleased to assent to the same.

Corporations Empowering Act, 1865."

THE attention of persons intending to apply for
grants of Letters Patent for Inventions or
of Letters of Registration is directed to the Regula-
tions published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
31st January, 1871, and particularly to Regulation
No. 4, relative to the size and material of specifica-
tions to be deposited in this Office.

The object of this regulation being the better
preservation of the documents and easier reference
to them, it must be strictly observed, and no appli-
cations which are not in conformity therewith will
be received.

As this Office will not correspond with applicants,
all communications they desire to make must be
made personally by the applicant or his agent.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until
noon on Wednesday the 2nd of August next,
for the supply of Coal to the Colonial Government
Steamer "Luna," for the Twelve Months commencing
the 1st August, 1871.

The Coals to be delivered on board the Steamer in
Wellington in the usual manner, and to be of the
best quality.

Tenders to state the rate per ton of 2,240 lbs., for
the various descriptions of Coal offered.

ALL persons late of the Colonial Forces or other-
wise, not belonging to the British Army or
Navy, who have been awarded the New Zealand
War Medal for service under the Imperial Authorities,
and whose names are published in the New Zealand
Gazette of 31st May, 1871, No. 31, in the Rolls
numbered 1 to 9, appended to the Letter from the
Crown Agents dated 16th March, 1871, and pub-
lished in the same Gazette, are hereby informed
that the Medals have been received from England,
and are ready for issue; and they are requested to
send in their names and addresses to the Officer
Commanding the Militia and Volunteers at the
chief town of the Province in which they live.
