A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1867," it is enacted that the district of
comprised within any of the cities, towns, or places
therein particularly specified, incorporated or reputed
to have been incorporated as therein mentioned
(including, amongst other cities and towns or places,
the city hereinafter named and specified), may, upon
the performance or happening of the conditions and
upon compliance with the terms by the said Act
imposed, by Proclamation of the Governor, be con-
stituted a borough under the said Act: And whereas
the conditions and terms by the said Act imposed for
the constitution as a borough of the district within
the city hereinafter specified have been duly per-
formed, have happened, and have been complied
with:

Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
constitute and proclaim the district comprised within

THE CITY OF WELLINGTON,

as the boundaries thereof are defined in and by "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," to be a borough
under the said Act.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, at the Government
House at Wellington; and issued under
the Public Seal of the said Colony this
sixteenth day of September, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy.

THE following Ordinances passed by the Provincial
Council, and assented to by the Superintendent,
the Province of Otago, intituled

"Imprest Supply Ordinance, 1870;"
"Licensing Ordinances Amendment Ordinance,
1870;"
"Sheep Ordinances Amendment Ordinance,
1870;"
"Impounding Ordinance Amendment Ordinance,
1870;"
"Appropriation Ordinance, 1870-71;"

having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency
has not been advised to exercise his power of dis-
allowance in respect of them.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint the following gentlemen to be the
Officers to form new Electoral Rolls for the Districts
set opposite their names, as constituted by "The
Representation Act, 1870" :-
