such commission, warrant, or authority as he hath
received or shall receive from the Governor, to
person as the Governor shall direct and appoint to
receive the same; and shall obey all orders of any
Judge of the District Court or of the Supreme Court,
duly made in relation to any books, accounts, papers,
and documents, of or belonging to any Company;
and shall permit and give every reasonable facility for
the audit of his accounts, then this obligation to be
void and of none effect, or else to remain in full force
and virtue: Provided always that no more than the
sum of two hundred and fifty pounds shall be recover-
able from each of them the said sureties by virtue of
the above-written obligation.

NOTE.β€”A seal to be affixed for each party, and the bond to
be signed in the presence of two witnesses, who must sign their
names, adding their residences and occupations. An attestation
must be added for each separate witnessing.

3 Date of first signature in words at length.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of August, 1870.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Waste Lands Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in
Council at any time, and from time to time, to except from sale, and either reserve to Her Majesty
or dispose of in such other manner as for the public interest may seem best, such of the Waste Lands of the
Crown, in any of the Provinces of the Colony, as may be required for the purposes of Military Defence, or
for the construction of Trunk Lines of Road, or as sites for Public Buildings for the use of the General
Government, or for other purposes of public utility or convenience :
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, in exercise and in pursuance of the power and authority in that behalf vested in
him, doth hereby except from sale and reserve to Her Majesty the several parcels of the Waste Lands of the
Crown particularly specified and described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said
Schedule mentioned, and set opposite the descriptions of the said parcels of land respectively.

Description of Reserve.

OTAGO.
Town of Mataura Bridge.
All that parcel of land, containing thirty-eight and a half
(38) perches, more or less, being section number two (2),
Block number one (I.).
Town of Naseby.
All that parcel of land, being section number three (3),
of Block number two (II.); bounded towards the North-east
by section number two (2) of the said block, ninety (90)
links; towards the South-east by Derwent Street, about
sixty (60) links; towards the South-west by a line about
seventy-five (75) links; and towards the West by Crown
Lands, about sixty-two (62) links.
Also, all that parcel of land, containing by admeasure-
ment six (6) poles, more or less, being section numbered
two (2), Block two (II.); bounded towards the North-east
by section 1 of the said block, one hundred (100)
links; towards the South-east by Derwent Street, forty-
one (41) links; towards the South-west by section three
(3) of said block, ninety (90) links; and towards the
West by Crown Lands, forty-two and two-tenths (42-2)
links.

WHEREAS by "The Mining Companies Limited
Liability Act Amendment Act, 1869," it is
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in
Council to appoint one or more persons, to be called
Official Auditors, to audit the accounts of all Official
Agents heretofore appointed or hereafter to be
appointed under "The Mining Companies Limited
Liability Act, 1865:"
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in him by the above recited Act, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony, doth appoint
THOMAS RITCHIE, Esq.,
of Auckland, in the Province of Auckland, to be the
Official Auditor of the accounts of the Official Agent,
subject to the provisions contained in the said recited
Acts in and for the Mining District of the Thames
Gold Fields.
