THE following Regulations providing for the issue
and payment of Money Orders by Telegraph,
and which will take effect from the fifteenth day of
June, 1870, are published for general information.

REGULATIONS FOR THE ISSUE AND PAYMENT OF
TELEGRAPH MONEY ORDERS.
ISSUES.
A POSTMASTER can grant a Telegraph Money Order,
payable at any other Money Order Office in the
Colony, and for any sum not exceeding £10. Frac-
tional parts of a penny must not be inserted.
Requisition for a Telegraph Money Order shall be
made to Postmasters on the usual form, interlining
the word "Telegraph" before the words "Money
Order" and "Post Office Order."
The commissions charged for Telegraph Money
Orders are as follows:—
For sums not exceeding £1 ... s. d.
0 6
For sums exceeding £1, and not exceeding £2 ... 1 0
Ditto £2, ditto £3 ... 1 6
Ditto £3, ditto £4 ... 2 0
Ditto £4, ditto £5 ... 2 6
Ditto £5, ditto £6 ... 3 0

In addition to the commission, a Telegraph fee of
1s. is to be charged and collected by the Issuing
Postmaster. All commissions and fees are to be
credited and paid to Revenue Account, in the
Monthly Account Current, along with the ordinary
Money Order commission.
In granting a Telegraph Money Order, the Post-
master must first obtain the requisition and the cash
for the amount, commission, and fee; then fill in the
address of the Remitter and Paying Postmaster on
the respective Order and Advice forms; then the
amount, in figures and writing; then date-stamp,
and hand the Order to the Remitter, who must be
instructed to sign it with his Christian name and
surname in full, in presence of the Postmaster, and
hand it in to the nearest Telegraph Station for trans-
mission. The Postmaster will then sign, date-stamp,
and despatch the Advice, without delay, to the
nearest Telegraph Office; by messenger if within
the circuit of letter delivery, otherwise by post. The
telegram in both instances to be free of charge for
transmission, except porterage, which will be collected
by the Telegraph Department, in accordance with
the general regulations.
PAYMENTS.
When a Telegraph Money Order is presented for
payment, the Postmaster, if he has received Advice of
