hibitory or other declarations vested in the Governor
by "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act,
1865," may from time to time be delegated by the
Governor in Council, by Warrant under his hand, to
the Superintendent of any Province:
And whereas the said Governor hath by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
New Zealand, delegated to William Rolleston, Esq.,
the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury,
within the said Province, so long as he shall remain
Superintendent of the Province, the several powers
vested in the Governor or the Governor in Council
by the second, fourth, fifth, seventh, ninth, and tenth
sections of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," afore-
said; and all the powers which, by the fifth section
of "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act,
1865," the Governor in Council is authorized so to
delegate:
And whereas I, the said William Rolleston, by a
Proclamation dated the sixth day of November, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, and published
in the New Zealand Gazette on the eleventh day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
eight, did proclaim and declare the portion of the
Province of Canterbury therein described as com-
mencing at Harrison's Bridge, on the River Cam;
thence easterly to the North Road; thence northerly,
following the eastern side of the said road to its junc-
tion with the Rangiora Road; thence north-westerly,
following the north-eastern side of that road to the
road forming the eastern boundary of section 1,028;
thence south-westerly, following the western boundary
line of the latter road to the River Cam; and from
thence, following the eastern bank of that river, to the
commencing point, to be an infected district within
the meaning of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861:"
And whereas it has been made to appear to me
that the said district is entirely free from the disease
called pleuro-pneumonia;
Now therefore, I, the said William Rolleston, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the aforesaid dis-
trict shall cease to be an infected district within the
meaning of the said Act from and after the thirty-
first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy.
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this
nineteenth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy.

I, JOHN MUIR WAYLAND, Registrar of Joint
Stock Companies for the Province of Auckland
and Hawke's Bay, in the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby notify that I have registered a Memo-
randum of Association, with Articles of Association,
establishing a Company, with limited liability of the
shareholders therein, intituled
"The Auckland and Thames Steam Packet Company,
Limited."
"The objects for which the Company is established
are, the conveyance of passengers, merchandise,
and luggage, in ships or boats, between such places
as the Company may from time to time determine;
and the doing all such other things as are incidental
or conducive to the attainment of the above objects."
And that, in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued
a Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company,
bearing date this sixteenth day of March, 1870.

DUNEDIN AND PORT CHALMERS RAILWAY.--
SESSION 1870.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is
intended to be made at the ensuing Session of
the Provincial Council of Otago for leave to intro-
duce a Bill under the provisions of "The Provincial
Compulsory Land Taking Act, 1866," authorizing
David Proudfoot, of Dunedin, in the Province of
Otago and Colony of New Zealand, Contractor, and
John Thomas Chaplin, of the same place, Coach Pro-
prietor, to take compulsorily, for the purpose of
making and constructing a Railway from Port
Chalmers in the said Province to the City of Dunedin
in the said Province, and of constructing Wharves,
Jetties, and other necessary erections, for the purpose
of enabling ships and vessels to load and discharge
their cargoes, and land and take in passengers from
and to such railway, the lands or portions of the
lands particularly mentioned and situated as described
in the Schedule hereunder written: And notice is
hereby further given, that a copy of the Bill so
intended to be introduced as aforesaid may be
inspected at the Office of the Clerk of the said Pro-
vincial Council on and after the twenty-fifth day of
April next ensuing the date hereof.
