I, ROBERT CHISENHALL HAMMERTON,
Registrar of Joint Stock Companies for the
Province of Taranaki, do hereby notify that I have
Registered a Memorandum of Association, with
Articles of Association annexed, establishing a Com-
pany with limited liability of the Shareholders
therein, intituled
"The Qpunake Flax Company, Limited,"
the objects of which are the dressing and cultiva-
tion of Flax, trading with the Natives, renting or
purchasing Lands in the Province of Taranaki; and
doing all such other things as are incidental or con-
ducive to the attainment of the above objects:
And that, in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company,
bearing date the 22nd November, 1869.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.-Notice
is hereby given, that the Partnership business
for some time past carried on by us the undersigned
Augustus Septimus Braithwaite and Richard Ram-
sey Morton, as Iron Merchants and Importers, in
the Provinces of Nelson and Canterbury, in New
Zealand, under the style or firm of "Braithwaite and
Morton," was on this thirtieth day of June, 1869,
dissolved by mutual consent, and the business will
henceforth be carried on by the same Richard
Ramsey Morton alone, and in his name.
The said Richard Ramsey Morton will discharge
all debts due by the said firm, and is authorized
to receive all debts due to the same.

NOTICE UNDER "THE PATENTS ACT,
1860."-Notice is hereby given, that we,
Ebenezer Gibbons, Thomas Gibbons, and Robert
Pierce Gibbons, all of Onehunga, in the Province
of Auckland, and Colony of New Zealand, Timber
Merchants, have applied to His Excellency the
Governor to grant to us Letters Patent, pursuant to
the provisions of "The Patents Act, 1860," for
the exclusive use of Improvements invented by us,
and adapted to a Machine to be applied to the
purpose of cleaning New Zealand Flax or Phormium
tenax, and all other fibrous Plants indigenous to New
Zealand, by separating the fibre from the gum and
other vegetable matter of the leaf, and rendering the
same fit for manufacture into rope, and for all
purposes for which hemp is ordinarily used. And
notice is hereby given, that any person who may
wish to prefer any objection to the granting of such
Letters Patent is hereby required, within four
calendar months from the publication of this notice,
to send to the office of John Boyle Bennett, Esquire,
the officer appointed to receive the same, a statement
in writing setting forth clearly the grounds of such
objection, and subscribed with his proper name
and address.
