Manchester Unity Independent Order of Odd
Fellows, of the Hokitika District,"
duly certified, has been lodged with the Registrar of
Friendly Societies, registered and recorded in his
office under the provisions of "The Friendly Societies
Act, 1867."

REPUBLISHED in pursuance of the Diseased
Cattle Acts.
PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Diseased Cattle
Act Amendment Act, 1865" (section 4), the Gover-
nor may, by any Order in Council, from time to
time annul, make void, or alter or vary and make
anew, any Orders in Council, regulations, appoint-
ments, or prohibitory or other declarations made and
published by the Governor under the authority of
"The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," or of this Act,
or by the Superintendent of any Province, under or
in pursuance of any power delegated to him under
any of the powers of delegation contained in the said
Act:
And whereas by section 5 of the said Amendment
Act, "as to regulations, appointments, and prohibi-
tory and other declarations made by Superintendents
of Provinces, in pursuance of any powers delegated
under the powers of delegation contained in the said
Act or this Act, the power of annulling, making void,
or altering or varying and making anew, any such
regulations, appointments, or prohibitory or other
declarations, vested in the Governor by this Act, may
from time to time be delegated by the Governor in
Council, by warrant under his hand, to the Superin-
tendent of any Province:"
And whereas the said Governor hath, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of New
Zealand, delegated to William Rolleston, Esquire, so
long as he shall hold the office of Superintendent of
the Province of Canterbury, all the powers which by
the said fifth section of the said Amendment Act the
Governor in Council is authorized so to delegate:
Now therefore I, William Rolleston, the Superin-
tendent as aforesaid, in pursuance of the powers so
vested in me in that behalf, do hereby make the fol-
lowing Regulation, to take effect from and after the
day following the date of publication hereof in the
New Zealand Gazette :-
REGULATION.
If any person who shall have been served with a
notice in accordance with the eleventh regulation
contained in the Proclamation dated the 3rd day of
February, 1869, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette on the 19th day of February, 1869, shall fail
to comply with any Order issued in accordance with
the Regulation contained in the Proclamation dated
the 9th day of September, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette on the 20th day of September, 1869,
he shall be liable to a penalty of fifty pounds for every
head of cattle in his possession not killed within the
period named in such Order.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a regulation issued under the pro-
visions of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," and
"The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act, 1865,"
and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
20th of September, 1869, and assented to by His
Excellency the Governor as notified in the New
Zealand Gazette of the 23rd of October, 1869, it
is provided, that when any notice shall have been
given by an Inspector under the Diseased Cattle
Acts, in accordance with the eleventh regulation
contained in the Proclamation dated the 3rd day
of February, 1869, and published in the New Zea-
land Gazette on the 19th day of February, 1869,
to the occupier of any farm or run within any
infected district upon which he shall be satisfied
that there are infected cattle, or cattle which have
mixed with cattle which are actually infected or
suspected to be infected, if after the lapse of one
month from the date of such notice any Inspector
shall be satisfied that disease is likely again to recur
upon the said farm or run, then the cattle may
be declared by the Superintendent to be infected
cattle, and he may order them to be slaughtered
within a reasonable period:
And whereas on the 28th day of September, 1869,
notice was given under the eleventh regulation
aforesaid to the following persons occupying farms
or runs within the infected district known as the
Maori Reserve, that is to say, to
T. H. Harrison,
R. Hicks,
J. Stephens,
D. O'Brien,
L. Cox,
W. Moody,
G. Gibbs,
Henry Hinge,
C. Ming:
And whereas I have received a certificate from an
Inspector of Cattle, bearing date the 8th day of
November, 1869, that he is fully satisfied that
disease is likely again to recur within the said
district:
Now therefore I, William Rolleston, Superin-
tendent as aforesaid, in pursuance of the powers
in me vested in that behalf, do hereby declare that
the cattle now depasturing within the farms or runs
within the said infected district, occupied by the
above named persons, on whom the aforesaid notice
was served upon the 28th day of September last,
are infected cattle within the meaning of the first-
named regulation; and I do hereby order the said
cattle to be destroyed within six weeks from the
day after the date of the publication of this Order in
the New Zealand Gazette.

twenty-sixth day of November, one thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

Registrar of Joint Stock Companies for the
Province of Taranaki, do hereby notify that I have
registered a Memorandum of Association, with
Articles of Association annexed, establishing a Com-
pany, with limited liability of the Shareholders
therein, intituled
"The Cape Egmont Flax-Dressing Company,
Limited,"
the objects of which are the preparation and sale
of the fibre of the Phormium tenax or New Zealand
Flax:
And that, in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company,
bearing date the 16th November, 1869.
