make the following appointments :—
In the Armed Constabulary.
George Austin Woods, Esq., Colonial Marine Sur-
veyor, to be Inspector when serving afloat. Date
of commission, 14th October, 1869.
John Fairchild, Esq., to be Sub-Inspector when serv-
ing afloat. Date of commission, 14th October,
1869.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following name of an Officiating Minister,
within the meaning of the said Act, is published for
general information :—

I, JOHN B. BENNETT, Registrar-General of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages in New Zealand, do hereby
certify that the foregoing NAME of an OFFICIATING
MINISTER, within the meaning of "The Marriage
Act, 1854," has been sent in to me in addition to
the names in Lists published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 4, of the 29th of January; No. 5, of
the 8th of February; No. 15, of the 19th of March;
No. 16, of the 25th of March; No. 18, of the 1st of
April; No. 22, of the 17th of April; No. 23, of the
27th of April; No. 25, of the 13th of May; No. 31,
of the 3rd of June; No. 32, of the 11th of June;
No. 34, of the 26th of June; No. 37, of the 6th of
July; No. 42, of the 6th of August; No. 55, of the
20th of September; and No. 57, of the 22nd of
September, in the present year.
Given under my hand, at Wellington, this
fifth day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-nine.

I, JOHN MUIR WAYLAND, Registrar of Joint
Stock Companies for the Provinces of Auckland
and Hawke's Bay, in the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby notify that I have registered a Memorandum
of Association, with Articles of Association, estab-
lishing a Company, with limited liability of the
shareholders therein, intituled—
"The Northern Light Gold Mining Company,
Limited."
"The objects for which the Company is established
are to explore the Mine and Claims thereof, situated
in Block Seventy-four, Waitakerei East, in the
Province of Auckland, for Gold, Silver, Precious
Stones, and other Minerals; to acquire ground by
purchase, agreement, or otherwise, in the vicinity for
the like purposes; to carry on quartz-crushing,
smelting, or any other process whereby the said
metals may be extracted from the ore; to sell the
said metals and minerals either in the ore or in a
purified state, and to employ all manner of vessels
and conveyances for the carriage of the said metals
and minerals; and also to carry on such other
Mining operations as may be decided upon at any
meeting of the Company; and also for the sale,
disposal, exchange, lease, or hire of the whole or any
part of the said land, or of the stock, machinery, or
plant of any kind whatsoever belonging to the said
Company."
And that, in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company,
bearing date this thirty-first day of August, 1869.

Stock Companies for the Provinces of Auckland

"The Thames Investment Company, Limited."
"The objects for which the Company is established
are to prosecute and carry on Gold Mining operations
and works of every description, and other business
connected therewith or incidental thereto, and, in
furtherance of these objects—
- To acquire, by purchase or otherwise, Mines,
Land, and Claims, and Shares and Interests in
Mines, Land, and Claims. - To purchase or erect and construct, either
solely or jointly with any person or company,
Plant, Machinery, Implements, and Apparatus;
and also Wharves, Railways, Tramways,
Roads, and other Works. - And, generally, to do all such things as are
directly or indirectly incidental or conducive
to the attainment of the above objects, or
calculated to promote the interests of the
Company."
And that, in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company,
bearing date this eighth day of September, 1869.

And that, in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company,
bearing date this ninth day of September, 1869.
