IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose
vested by "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,"
I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint that, on
and from the day of the date hereof, there shall be
within the Province of Auckland a Port, to be called

The PORT OF THAMES,

the limits whereof shall be as follow:-A circle
described round the north-west corner of the
Government Reserve at the intersection of Grey
Street and Pollen Street in the Town of Shortland,
and having a radius of three and a half miles.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same, at the Government House, at
Auckland, this eighth day of October, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-nine.

Governor's Order, No. 93.]

IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose
vested by "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,"
I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint that, on
and from the day of the date hereof, the Wharf at
the foot of Albert Street, at Graham's Town, and
known as Graham's Town Wharf, together with the
Beach Frontage extending from Albert Street to
Abraham Street in the said town of Graham's Town,
shall be deemed and taken to be the legal Landing
place for the lading and unlading of goods at the
Port of Thames, under "The Customs Regulation
Act, 1858."

IN exercise of the power in me vested for this pur-
pose by "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,"
I, the Commissioner of Customs, do hereby appoint
that the Wharf in Shortland, at the Kauaeranga
Creek, in the Port of Thames, shall be a Sufferance
Wharf for the lading and unlading of goods under
the provisions of "The Customs Regulation Act,
1858."

Given under my hand at Auckland, this
eighth day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-nine.

Commissioner's Order, No. 34.]

IN exercise of the powers in me vested by "The
Customs Regulation Act, 1858," I, the Commis-
sioner of Customs, do hereby appoint and declare
that the Port of Thames shall be a port at which
persons acting as agents in the entrance or clearance
of ships, goods, or baggage, or any business relating

thereto, shall be required to be duly licensed for that
purpose:

And I do further order and direct that the said
Port of Thames shall be a port in which goods
cleared for drawback or from the warehouse shall be
carried or water-borne to be put on board ship for
exportation, and also goods carried or water-borne
from any importing ship to or to be landed at any
wharf, quay, or other place, shall be so carried or
water-borne only by persons authorized for that
purpose by license of the Commissioner.

eight hundred and sixty-nine.

IT is hereby notified, that a Writ issued for the
election of a Superintendent of the Province of
Taranaki has been returned with a Certificate to the
effect that

of New Plymouth, Freeholder, has been duly elected.

1862, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 17,
of 7th day of April, 1862; in the room of Walter
Hippolyte Pilliet, Esq., absent on leave.
