NOTICE
To Shippers, Consignees, and Owners, or their
Agents, of Goods, Merchandize, and other
Property on board the s.s. "Taranaki," which
vessel was wrecked on the 19th August last,
and now lies sunken in Bowden's Bay, Queen
Charlotte's Sound.

THE "Wreck Recovery Company, Limited," are
about to commence operations for raising the
said vessel, which, if successful, will probably be
effected in a month's time or thereabouts. The said
Company hereby notify to all parties concerned to be
prepared to receive and remove all their property
contained in the said vessel when and so soon as the
same shall be brought to the surface of the water, the
Company having no means of transport at their
command; at the same time security will be required
for payment of such salvage, and proportion for
expenses incurred on that behalf, as may be then
agreed upon, or hereafter be duly determined.

Failing the above, all property recovered and un-
claimed will be sold by public auction on the spot,
by direction of the salvors, for the benefit of whom
it may concern.

Communications, containing full particulars of
property claimed, with marks, numbers, &c., and
proposed arrangements for payment of salvage,
charges, and removal, to be addressed to

NOTICE is hereby given, that application has been
made to His Excellency the Governor, by and
on behalf of DECIMUS ATKINSON, of the Fitzroy
District, in the Province of Taranaki, Gentleman,
for the grant to him of Letters Patent, under "The
Patents Act, 1860," for the exclusive use, within the
Colony of New Zealand, of an Invention of a Method
or Process of Smelting the Iron Sand of New Zealand
into Iron or Steel by one process.

Any person who may wish to prefer any objection
to the granting of such Letters Patent is requested
to send, within four months of the publication of this
notice, to the office of John Boyle Bennett, Esquire,
the officer appointed for that purpose, a statement in
writing setting forth the grounds of such objection,
subscribed with his proper name and address.

Dated at Wellington, the twenty-fourth day of
June, 1869.

STATEMENT of Assets and Liabilities to the

This property was sold at the above date, as per
meeting of shareholders held in Dunedin on the 5th
May, 1867, and approved of at a second meeting
held at the same place on the 8th July following.
I hereby declare that the terms of sale have been
complied with by the purchasers.

PART I.—PRICE TEN SHILLINGS.

THE Public are informed that the First Part of
the above Work, printed under the authority
of the Government, and comprising the Cases argued
before the Court of Appeal during the last two
years, is now complete and ready for issue. The
Reports are printed on the English model, royal
8vo. size, and contain 164 pages of printed matter.
They have been carefully revised and arranged for
press by His Honor Mr. Justice Johnston. It is
intended to continue the issue, in parts, after each
annual sitting of the Court of Appeal, the folio
to run on continuously from Part I., in order that
the Reports for four years (or five if necessary) may
be bound up in one volume; and when the volume
is complete, a copious Index for the whole will be
prepared.

Orders for the above Work will be received by
the Government Printer, Wellington, and must be
accompanied with a remittance for the amount. The
Book will be forwarded, post free, to any part of the
Colony.
