IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in
me by "The Weights and Measures Act, 1868,"
I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, G.C.M.G., the
Governor of New Zealand, do hereby direct that the
authorized copies of the Standard Weights and
Measures issued and to be issued under the pro-
visions of the said Act to the several Inspectors of
Weights and Measures for the Districts, Provinces,
and Counties named in the first column of the
Schedule hereunder written, shall be kept therein at
the several places of deposit the names whereof are
in the second column of the said Schedule set
opposite the names of the said Districts, Provinces,
and Counties respectively, in the respective buildings
the descriptions whereof are in the third column of
the said Schedule set opposite the names of such
places of deposit respectively.

WHEREAS by "The Otago Municipal Corpora-
tions Empowering Act, 1865," it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor to appoint
the person elected to be Mayor of any city or incor-
porated town as therein mentioned to be a Justice
of the Peace for the Colony, provided that in every
such case such appointment shall continue no longer
than the mayoralty of such person: And whereas
Horace Bastings, Esquire, has been elected Mayor of
the Municipality of Lawrence:
Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the
Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance and in
exercise of the power and authority vested in me in
that behalf, do hereby appoint the said
HORACE BASTINGS, Esq.,
to be a Justice of the Peace for the Colony of New
Zealand.

rity in this behalf enabling me, I, Sir George
Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings
of the District Court of the Otago Gold Fields,
additional to those already appointed, shall be held
as follows:-
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Lawrence,
on the second Tuesday in June next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Naseby, on
the second Wednesday in July next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Clyde, on
the Monday next after the second Wednesday
in July next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Queenstown,
on the Monday second after the second Wednes-
day in July next.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eighteenth day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
nine.

1866," it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor from time to time to constitute
and appoint a Board or Boards of Medical Officers,
and to cancel or vary any appointment at pleasure;
such Board or Boards in each case to consist of not
less than three duly qualified medical practitioners:
