IN pursuance of "The Patents Act, 1860," I, John
Henry Noding, of Christchurch, in the Province
of Canterbury, New Zealand, gentleman, hereby give
notice that I have applied for a grant of Letters
Patent under the above Act, for the sole use, benefit,
and advantage of a certain Invention of an Improve-
ment in Machinery for Extracting the Fibre of
Phormium Tenax, the New Zealand Flax; and any
person who may wish to prefer any objection to the
granting of such Letters Patent is hereby required
within four months of the date of the publication of
this advertisement, to send to the office or address
of John Boyle Bennett, Esq., Registrar-General, at
Wellington, a statement in writing setting forth
the grounds of such objection, and subscribed with
his proper name and address.

DISSOLUTION of Partnership.-Notice is hereby
given, that the Partnership formerly existing
between John King, of Moorgate Street Buildings,
in the City of London, Frederick James Sargood, of
the same place, Frederick Thomas Sargood, of the
City of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, and
John Alexander Ewen, of Dunedin, in the Province
of Otago (but at present temporarily residing in
England), carrying on business as warehousemen
and general merchants in Dunedin aforesaid, under
the style or firm of "Sargood, King, and Sargood,"
has been, so far as concerns the said John King,
dissolved by mutual consent.

And notice is hereby also given, that the business
of the late partnership has been assumed and will be
continued by the said Frederick James Sargood,
Frederick Thomas Sargood, and John Alexander
Ewen, under the partnership, style, or firm of
"Sargood, Son, and Ewen," who will receive and
discharge the debts due to and the liabilities owing
by the late firm.

Dated at Dunedin, this fourth day of February,
1869.

Act, 1865;" and I do solemnly and sincerely declare

belief and knowledge, true in every particular,
namely:-

  1. The name and style of the Company is "The
    Star Gold Mining Company, Registered."
  2. The place of operations is on the Karaka,
    Thames Gold Field, in the Province of Auckland, in
    the Colony of New Zealand.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is six
    thousand pounds, in six thousand shares of one
    pound each.
  4. The amount already paid up is three thousand
    three hundred and sixteen pounds.
  5. The name of the manager is Charles William
    Melsop.
  6. The office of the Company is at Pollen Street,
    Shortland, in the said Province.
