TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor, by warrant under his hand,
from time to time to appoint polling places for each
electoral district, within or without the limits thereof,
and to appoint any one of such polling places to be
the principal polling place for the district, and all or
any of such polling places at any time to abolish,
and to appoint other polling places in lieu thereof.
And whereas by warrant under the hand of the
Governor, bearing date the seventeenth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six,—

Mr. Dewar's School-house, Newton,

was appointed a polling place for the District of
Newton, for the election of Members of the House
of Representatives. And whereas it is expedient to
abolish the same:

Now know ye that I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said Act,
do hereby abolish the abovenamed polling place for
the District of Newton, for the election of Members
of the House of Representatives, and do appoint in
lieu thereof,—

NEWTON ACADEMY.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this seventeenth
day of July, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
