- A skeleton map of every block shall be
deposited for public information one fortnight before
such block is offered for sale at the office of the
Secretary for Crown Lands, Wellington, and at the
Land Office, New Plymouth, and at such places as
the Colonial Secretary may direct in Auckland,
Wanganui, Patea, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christ-
church, Hokitika, Dunedin, and Invercargill. - All powers conferred and all duties imposed
on the Colonial Secretary under these regulations
may be exercised and performed by the Minister for
the time being in charge of confiscated lands.
NOTICE is hereby given that an application has
been made to His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by John Alves, of
Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, in the said
Colony, contractor, for the grant to him, the said
John Alves, of letters patent under the seal of the
said Colony, for the exclusive use, enjoyment and
advantage within the said Colony of a new invention
or improvement for washing wool thoroughly clean,
whilst growing on the back of sheep, by a different
and more effectual process than any other process at
present in use or proposed to be introduced. And
notice is hereby further given that any person who
may wish to prefer any objection to the granting of
such letters patent, is hereby required, within four
calendar months from the publication of this notice,
to send to the office of John Boyle Bennett, Esq.,
Registrar-General, at Wellington, in the Province of
Wellington, in the said Colony of New Zealand,
(being the person appointed for that purpose under
the provisions of "The Patents Act, 1860,") a
statement in writing, setting forth the grounds of
such objection, and subscribed with the proper name
and address of the person so objecting.
Dated at Dunedin aforesaid, this thirtieth day of
June, 1868.

I, the undersigned, HENRY TOMLINSON TOWNDROW,
hereby give notice of an increase in the capital
of "The Macraes Quartz Crushing Company, Regis-
tered," and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that
the following statement is, to the best of my belief
and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:-
- The day on which the increase was resolved on,
is Monday, May the eleventh. - The nominal capital of the Company has been
increased from Eight hundred pounds, in one hundred
and sixty shares of five pounds each, to Twelve
hundred pounds, in two hundred and forty shares of
five pounds each. - That I am the manager of the Company.
