TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor, by warrant under his hand, from
time to time, to appoint polling places for each
electoral district, within or without the limits thereof,
and to appoint any one of such places to be the
principal polling place for the district, and all or any
of such polling places at any time to abolish, and to
appoint other polling places in lieu thereof. And
whereas by warrant under the hand of the Governor,
bearing date the fourth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-five, the premises of Messrs.
Cameron, Pahaua, were appointed a polling place
for the District of Wairarapa East for the election
of Members of the Provincial Council of the Pro-
vince of Wellington. And whereas it is expedient
to abolish the same:

Now know ye that I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said Act,
do hereby abolish the abovenamed polling place for
the District of Wairarapa East for the election of
Members of the Provincial Council of the Province
of Wellington, and do appoint in lieu thereofβ€”

Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New

Admiral of the same; and issued at
Wellington, this tenth day of June,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-eight.

proclamation dated the twentieth day of March, by

letting, disposal, occupation, and management of the
Waste Lands within the County of Westland, I, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint

ANDREW MOWAT, Esq., and
GEORGE WILLIAM MOSS, Esq.,
to be Commissioners of the Waste Lands Board of
the said County of Westland.

of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New

IN conformity with the provisions of "The Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1867," the following
Petition from inhabitant householders of Hokitika,
for the Town of Hokitika to be constituted a Borough,
and letter of assent from the Honorable John Hall,
delegate under "The County of Westland Act,
1867," are published for general information, and it
is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor
will consider the Petition on the 21st of August
next.
