except the powers conferred by sections twenty-two,
forty, forty-eight, sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred
and seven of the said Act, subject or not to any
limitations or restrictions as he may think fit, and in
like manner to alter or revoke any such powers:
Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor
as aforesaid of the said Council, with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council thereof, and in the
exercise of the power and authority for this purpose
in me vested, do hereby delegate, from and after this
date, unto
The Honorable JOHN HALL,
a Member of the Executive Council of the Colony,
all the powers vested in me under or by virtue of
the said "Gold Fields Act, 1866," except the powers
conferred by sections twenty-two, forty, forty-eight,
sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and seven, to
have, hold, and exercise within the County of West-
land, the said powers hereby given to the said
Honorable John Hall, so long as he shall continue
and remain a Member of the Executive Council, and
no longer: Provided always that copies of all Rules
and Regulations made under the delegation aforesaid
shall be forthwith transmitted to the Colonial Secre-
tary, in order that the same may be laid before the
General Assembly, in accordance with the provisions
of the one hundred and tenth clause of "The Gold
Fields Act, 1866."
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Grey, Knight Commander of
the Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and issued
at Wellington, this twentieth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

cons; and also, within the said County the powers
vested in me by clauses twelve, thirteen, and
seventeen of "The Marine Act, 1867," to have and
exercise the said powers hereby delegated to the
said Honorable John Hall, so long as he shall con-
tinue and remain a Member of the Executive Council
of the Colony, and no longer, subject nevertheless to
such regulations as may from time to time be made
by the Governor in Council, under authority of
clauses ten and fifty of the said last-mentioned Act.

THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE
COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The County of
Westland Act, 1867," it is enacted that all powers at
the time of the passing of the said Act by law vested
in the Superintendent of the said Province, should,
within the said county, become vested in the
Governor, provided that the Governor in Council
may from time to time delegate all or any of the said
powers to such person or persons as he may think fit,
and subject to such limitations as he may think fit,
and may in like manner alter or revoke such
delegations:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, in pursuance of the said recited power
and authority, and by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the Colony, doth, by
this Order in Council, delegate to
The Honourable JOHN HALL,
within the County of Westland, all the powers
heretofore of the Superintendent of the Province
of Canterbury, exercisable within the district com-
prised in the said county.

Council, from time to time, delegate all or any of
the powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act unto any person or persons, for any period, and
subject to any regulations, restrictions, or stipula-
tions which may be specified in such Order, and every
such delegation may from time to time alter or
revoke:
Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, Knight Com-
mander of the Bath, the Governor, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony, do, by this Order delegate, from and after
this date, unto
The Honorable JOHN HALL,
a Member of the Executive Council of the Colony,
such of the powers vested in me as Governor by
section seven of the said Act as enable me to erect,
superintend, and maintain harbour-marks, lights, and
beacons, now or hereafter to be placed within the
limits of any port in the County of Westland, or
the approaches thereto, subject however to such
directions as may from time to time be issued by the
Colonial Marine Engineer, as to the size, position,

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly

Westland Act, 1867," it is enacted, that any act
which at the time of the passing of the said Act
required to be done by any public officer of the
Province of Canterbury shall be done within the
County of Westland, by such person or persons as
the Governor shall appoint:
Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, K.C.B., the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint that the duties heretofore of the several public
officers of the Province of Canterbury, other than the
Superintendent and the members of the Executive
Council of the said Province, shall continue to be
performed by the same persons as at the time of the
passing of the said Act were charged with the per-
formance of such duties until the time or times when
officers shall be specially appointed to the performance
of such duties.
