In the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867."—
Notice is hereby given that a certain deed of
composition made the first day of May, 1868, between
Thomas Hudson, late of the City of Wellington,
now of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury,
butcher, of the one part, and the several persons
whose hands and seals are thereunto affixed, being
creditors of the said Thomas Hudson, of the other
part, was duly filed in the Supreme Court, at
Wellington, on this eighth day of May, 1868.

NOTES.
Taranaki.—From 2nd to 4th, very high winds, N.W. and S.W.; also a galé on 20th, from N.W.; slight earthquake on 29th;
prevailing winds, N. and N.W.; thunder on 8th; fog on 1st; unpleasant weather.
Wellington.—Very high winds on 5th, 12th, 13th, and 19th, N. W. and N.E.; on 29th, two sharp shocks of earthquake; on the
whole rather fine weather during month; prevailing winds, N. and N.W.
Nelson.—Severe thunder and lightning on 1st; very wet weather at this station; prevailing winds, N.E. and N.W.
Christchurch.—Pleasant weather; but on the 7th, there was a heavy fall of rain, with hail, thunder, and lightning, wind, S.W.,—
in twenty-four minutes rain measured 1.160 inch on ground, S.W. wind prevailed; hail also on 20th.
Hokitika.—Strong winds on 2nd, 3rd, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, from S.W., N.W., and N.E.; prevailing wind, N.W.; fog on
5th; wet unpleasant weather.
Dunedin.—Stormy on 3rd, 22nd, 29th, from S.W., which wind prevailed; heavy rain on 29th; a tolerably fine month.
Southland.—Thunder on 1st, 2nd, 7th, 5th, 6th, 12th; heavy rain on 9th, 1.246 inch; very wet month; hail on 20th.
GENERAL REMARKS.
It will be seen from the above Return that the temperature at these stations is in every case lower that of previous
years, by about two degrees, while the Barometer reading is slightly higher; the degree of moistureindul mall is in most cases
higher than former years.
