HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
make the undermentioned appointments, viz.:-
In the No. 1 Company Wellington Rifle Volunteers.
Donald Hay McBarnet to be Captain. Date of
commission, 28th October, 1867.
In the Wellington Veteran Volunteers.
George Buck to be Captain. Date of commis-
sion, 29th October, 1867.
Henry Charles Holland Hastings to be Lieu-
tenant. Date of commission, 1st November,
1867.
James Ischerwood to be Ensign. Date of
commission, 1st November, 1867.
In the No. 6 Company Auckland Rifle Volunteers.
James Brown Gatland to be Ensign. Date of
commission, 15th June, 1867.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following name of an OFFICIATING
MINISTER within the meaning of the said Act, is
published for general information:-
Presbyterian Church of Otago and Southland.

I, JOHN B. BENNETT, Registrar-General of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages, in New Zealand, do hereby
certify that the foregoing NAME of an OFFICIATING
MINISTER within the meaning of "The Marriage
Act, 1854," has been sent in to me, in addition to
the names in Lists published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 7, of the 29th of January; No. 9, of
the 11th of February; No. 12, of the 28th of
February; No. 23, of the 12th of April; No. 29, of
the 16th of May; No. 32, of the 1st of June; No.
36, of the 27th of June; No. 43, of the 7th of
August, No. 45, of the 31st of August; No. 47, of
the 27th of September; and No. 56, of the 28th of
October, in the present year.
Given under my hand at Wellington, this
twenty-ninth day of October, one thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

I, ALFRED WILLIAM SMITH, Registrar of
Joint Stock Companies, do hereby certify that
I have registered a Memorandum of Association,
with Articles of Association annexed, establishing a
Company with limited liability of the shareholders
therein, intituled-
"THE ECONOMIC GAS CONSUMERS COMPANY,
LIMITED;"
the objects for which the said Company is established
being firstly, "To supply the inhabitants of Dunedin
with gas of a better quality than they have hitherto
been able to obtain, and at a less cost;" and
secondly, "To diminish the expense of public
lighting with a view to a reduction of the rates now
assessed upon property in the City of Dunedin."
And I hereby further notify that in pursuance of
"The Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have
issued a Certificate of Incorporation of the said
Company, bearing date the twenty-third day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
seven.
