the Most Noble the Duke of Buckingham and
Chandos, one of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries
of State, on the 15th day of March, 1867: And
whereas it is expedient that the said Bill should be
disallowed: Now therefore Her Majesty, in pursuance
of the said Act, and in exercise of the powers thereby
reserved to Her Majesty as aforesaid, doth by this
present Order, by and with the advice of Her
Majesty's Privy Council, declare Her disallowance of
the said Bill.

And the Most Noble the Duke of Buckingham and
Chandos, one of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries
of State, is to give the necessary directions herein
accordingly.

I, Richard Plantagenet Campbell Temple Nugent
Brydges Chandos Grenville, Duke of Buckingham
and Chandos, being one of Her Majesty's Principal
Secretaries of State having the Department of the
Colonies, do hereby certify that the Act (No. 11, of
1866) passed by the Legislature of New Zealand, and
entitled "An Act for indemnifying persons acting in
the Suppression of the Native Insurrection" was
received at this Department on the 15th day of
March, 1867.

Given under my hand and seal this 31st day of
May, 1867.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The New Zealand Settlements
Act, 1863" it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor in Council, from time to
time, to set apart, within any district which shall
have been declared to be within the provisions of the
said Act, eligible sites for settlements for coloniza-
tion, and to define the boundaries of such settlement.
And whereas it is further enacted by the said Act,
that "on part of the land subject to the provisions
of the said Act, the Governor shall cause to be laid
out a sufficient number of towns and farms to give
full effect to the provisions of the contracts which may
be entered into by or on behalf of the Government
of New Zealand with certain persons for the granting
of land to them in return for military service: And
whereas, I, Sir George Grey, Governor, have caused
the lands described in the Schedules hereto, situate
within the Bay of Plenty and Ngatiruanui Districts,
to be so set apart:

Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, Governor, do
hereby proclaim and declare that I have caused the
lands described in the Schedules hereunto, to be laid
out in towns and farms for the purposes specified in
the sixteenth section of the said Act.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Grey, Knight Commander of
the Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, at the
Government House, at Wellington, and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
this twelfth day of August, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-seven.

SCHEDULES.

SCHEDULE A.

All lands within the Ngatiruanui District pro-
claimed in an Order in Council bearing date the
second day of September, 1865, which lie between
the River Patea and the River Waingongoro, in the
Province of Taranaki.

SCHEDULE B.

All lands within the Bay of Plenty District,
bounded by a straight line running due South from
Tirohanga for seven miles, thence by a line bearing
West which shall strike the Waiotahi River, thence
ascending the course of the Waiotahi River until it
reaches the southern boundary of the confiscated block,
thence running westerly by the southern boundary of
the confiscated block until it reaches the Wakatane
River, thence by the course of Wakatane River to
the sea, and thence from the mouth of Wakatane by
the sea coast to Tirohanga.

Otago Public Buildings Loan Ordinance, 1862,"
"The Otago Loan Ordinance, 1861-2," and "The
Otago Loan Ordinance, 1862," I, Sir George Grey,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby nominate and appoint the persons hereinafter
named to be Trustees under "The Otago Public
Buildings Loan Ordinance, 1862," "The Otago
Loan Ordinance, 1861-2," and "The Otago Loan
Ordinance, 1862:"-

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir George Grey, Knight Commander
of the Most Honorable Order of the

eight hundred and sixty-seven.

of the Province of Canterbury, intituled
"The Sefton Church and Cemetery Reserve

having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency
has been pleased to leave the same to its operation.

"The Provincial Council Extension Ordinance

of the Governor's pleasure thereon, having been laid
before the Governor, His Excellency has been pleased
to assent to the same.
