TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:-

Wellington, 18th January, 1866.
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor, by warrant under his hand, from time
to time, to appoint polling places for each electoral
district, within or without the limits thereof, and to
appoint any one of such places to be the principal
polling place for the district, and all or any of such
polling places at any time to abolish, and to appoint
other polling places in lieu thereof:
Now, know ye, that I, the Governor of New Zea-
land, in pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested by the said Act, do hereby appoint the follow-
ing place to be an additional polling place for the
electoral district hereinafter specified, as constituted
by "The Representation Act, 1865," for the Elec-
tion of Members of the House of Representatives,
namely:---
For the District of HEATHCOTE-The School House,
Lincoln Road.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Grey, Knight Commander of the
Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-ninth day of January, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-six.

THE following Notice to Mariners, issued by the
Government of the Colony of Victoria, respect-
ing the Antipodes and Bounty Islands, is published
for general information.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.
Antipodes and Bounty Islands.
In consequence of considerable discrepancy having
been found in the latitude and longitude of the
Antipodes and Bounty Islands, as furnished by seve-
ral nautical books and charts, the following notice of
their correct position, ascertained by Commander
Norman during the "Victoria's " recent search
amongst these islands for shipwrecked men, is pub-
lished for general information.

H.M.C.S. "Victoria" found the Antipodes Island
to be in latitude 49° 42' South, longitude 178° 43'
East.
Bounty Island (a mere group of broken rocks with
outlying dangers) to be in latitude 47° 50' South,
longitude 179° East.
