TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME—GREETING:
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS I am desirous as soon as may be to meet the People of New Zealand,
and to have their advice in Parliament: I do declare that I have this day
given Orders for the Issue of Writs, in due form, for the election of duly qualified
persons to serve as Members of the House of Representatives, which Writs are to
bear date on this twenty-seventh day of January, and to be returnable on the six-
teenth day of April next.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, Knight
Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, at
the Government House at Wellington, and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, this twenty-seventh day of
January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-six.

KNOW Ye that I being desirous as soon as may be to meet the People of
New Zealand, and to have their advice in Parliament, do hereby, in Her
Majesty's name, summon and call together the House of Representatives in and for
the said Colony to meet at the City of Wellington, in the said Colony, on MONDAY,
the SIXTEENTH day of APRIL next, then and there to have conference with the
Legislative Council of the said Colony.
