IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority in me vested for this purpose, under
and by virtue of "The Volunteer Act, 1865,"
I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby nominate and appoint the
undermentioned officers to be the persons, within their
respective Provinces or Districts, to receive the arms,
accoutrements, and other articles supplied to any
officer, non-commissioned officer, or volunteer of any
corps which has been disbanded in terms of the
seventh section of the said Act:β€”

In the Province of Auckland.
Major Michael Tighe.

In the Province of Taranaki.
Lieutenant-Colonel Maxwell Lepper.

In the Militia District of Wanganui and Rangitikei.
Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Gorton.

In the Militia District of Wellington.
Captain and Adjutant John S. Kirwan.

In the Militia Districts of Castle Point and Wairarapa.
Captain and Adjutant Hugh Cleland.

In the Province of Hawke's Bay.
Lieutenant-Colonel George Stoddart Whitmore.

In the Province of Marlborough.
Captain and Adjutant the Honorable William
Douglas Hall Baillie.

In the Province of Nelson.
Capain and Adjutant John W. Lockett.

In the Province of Canterbury.
Captain John Fuller, or the Adjutant of the Can-
terbury Volunteers.

In the Province of Otago.
Major John Cargill.

In the Province of Southland.
Captain and Adjutant William James Balfour Junor.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Grey, Knight Commander of

the Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
eighth day of February, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-six.

THE undermentioned corps, enrolled previous to
the passing of "The Volunteer Act, 1865," not
having within sixty days of the date on which the
said Act came into operation, again tendered their
services to the Government, are, in accordance with
the provisions of Section VII. of the said Act, now
disbanded, and the gentlemen whose names are set
opposite to the corps to which they respectively
belonged, have ceased to hold the rank of officers in
such corps, their commissions having under the same
clause lapsed :β€”
