shall be returned by the Superintendent to the above
custody immediately after having been so used.
No debentures or coupons shall be stamped with
such stamp nor shall it be in any way used except
in the presence of the Superintendent or the Pro-
vincial Secretary, or some person or persons to be
appointed in writing for that purpose by the Super-
intendent.
Such appointed person shall keep an account of
the number of debentures and coupons stamped, and
shall not suffer the stamp to be used after the num-
ber or amount of debentures from time to time
authorized by law shall have been stamped, nor other-
wise than for the purpose of stamping such coupons.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
Declaring certain Land subject to "The Native Reserves
Act, 1856," and "The Native Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1865," to be sold.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of December, 1865.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise of the powers vested in the Governor
by "The Native Reserves Act, 1856," and "The
Native Reserves Amendment Act, 1862," the Gover-
or, with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth order that the land hereafter described,
that is to say:-All that parcel of land being the
section marked F on the plan of the Waiwakaiho
District, in the Province of Taranaki, bounded towards
the north by section marked E, towards the east by
a Native reserve marked C, towards the south by
section marked F 1, and towards the west by the
River Waiwakaiho, being land subject to the operation
of the said Acts shall be sold, and the same is hereby
sold to
WILLIAM HOOD,
of New Plymouth, Taranaki, for the sum of one
hundred and fifty pounds sterling (Β£150).

ORDER IN COUNCIL
Constituting the Waikato Militia District.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of December, 1865.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Militia Act,
1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council from time to time to constitute
throughout the Colony, or in any part thereof, Militia
Districts, and such districts from time to time to
abolish, and the boundaries thereof to vary:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, in exercise of the above recited power, doth
by this present Order, constitute a Militia District
in the Province of Auckland, to be called by the name
following, namely-

THE WAIKATO DISTRICT,
and doth define the said district to be all the territory
comprised within the circumference of a circle having

a radius of fifteen miles from the centre of a straight
line between Newcastle and Orakau.

Warrant calling out for Training and Exercise the
Auckland Militia in the Waikato District.
WHEREAS by "The Auckland Militia Acts
Amendment Act, 1862," the Governor is em-
powered to call out the whole or any part or number
of any regiment, battalion, corps, or company of
Militia in any district as he shall think fit; and it
appears to me expedient to call out for training and
exercise part of the Militia of the Province of Auck-
land hereinafter specified:
Now therefore I, Sir George Grey, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
said recited power, do hereby call out for training
and exercise such portions of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th
Regiments of the Auckland Militia in the Waikato
District, as by Proclamation dated the 5th day of
December, 1865, have been dismissed from actual
service.
And I order Colonel Philip Harington, the Officer
Commanding the said District, to carry into effect
this direction.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Grey, Knight Commander of
the Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, at the
Government House at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of December, one thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-five.

Order fixing the number of Days and Hours for the
Meeting of Auckland Militia in Waikato District
for Training and Exercise.
WHEREAS it is provided by "The Militia Acts
Amendment Act, 1862," that the number of
days and hours for the meeting of the Militia for any
district for training and exercise shall be from time
to time fixed by the Governor. And whereas it is
deemed expedient to call out for training and exercise
certain portions of the Auckland Militia in the
Waikato District: Now therefore in pursuance and
execution of this power and authority conferred upon
me by the said recited Act, I do hereby fix the number
of days and hours during which that portion of the
Auckland Militia in the Waikato District, which is
called out for training and exercise by instrument of
even date herewith, shall be trained and exercised,
shall be two hours per day for twelve days.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Grey, Knight Commander of the
Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of December, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-five.
