Results of Trial Trip of the s. s. "Tararua" in
Auckland Harbor, 29th April, 1865.
Weather, clear; wind, very light; water, smooth.
First run (with slight tide), average revolutions
of engines, 78; average vacuum, 26 in.; average pres-
sure in boilers, 21 1/2 lbs.; time, 4 min. 55 sec.; speed,
12.203 knots.
Second run (against slight tide), average revolu-
tions of engines, 76; average vacuum, 25 in.; average
pressure in boilers, 21 lbs., time, 5 min. 36 sec.;
speed, 10.714 knots.
Third run (with tide), average revolutions of
engines, 76; average vacuum, 26 1/2 in.; average pres-
sure in boilers, 20 lbs.; time, 4 min. 30 sec.; speed,
13.333 knots.
Fourth run (against tide), average revolutions of
engines, 26; average vacuum, 26 in.; average pres-
sure in boilers, 20 lbs.; time, 6 min.; speed, 10 knots.
Mean speed of the four runs, 11.562 knots per
hour.
Particulars of hull, &c.-Length, 220 ft.; breadth,
28 ft.; depth, 18 ft.; draught (light) 13 ft. aft, 10 ft.
6 in. forward; rig, barque; decks, two; tonnage,
572 tons register; official number, 50088; port of
registry, London.
Particulars of engines, &c.-Inverted direct acting
condensing; diameter of cylinders, 46 in.; length of
stroke, 30 in.; pitch of screw, 19 ft. 6 in.; diameter
of ditto, 12 ft.; number of blades, two; number of
boilers, two; description of ditto, multitubular, three
furnaces each; coal carried in bunkers, 260 tons.

Notice to Mariners. -Dog Island Lighthouse.
REFERRING to a Notice issued by the Board of
Trade, dated 1st March, 1865, stating that the
Light on Dog Island, Foveaux Strait, would be ex-
hibited during the month of April, 1865, it has been
found that through unavoidable delays the above light
will not be in readiness for permanent exhibition
before the end of July.

THE Bonded Warehouse lately in the occupation
of Messrs. Thornton, Smith and Firth, compri-
sing the half of a lower storey of a brick and stone
building, in the rear of Messrs. Combes and Daldy's
premises, Lower Queen-street, Auckland, having an
entrance from a lane turning off from Fort-street, has
been transferred to Messrs. Walter Combes and
William Crush Daldy, and will for the future be
known as-
MESSRS. COMBES AND DALDY'S WAREHOUSE.

Gazette, No. 3, of the 31st of January; No. 12, of

No. 18, of the 31st of May; and No. 22, of the 27th
of June, in the present year.
