a judicious purpose when the finances of the Colony

In furtherance of Mr. Morrison's views, I am
instructed to express the very strong sense the
Commissioners entertain of the desirability of active
steps being taken to ensure the due representation
of New Zealand at the Paris Exhibition, 1867, and
their hope that Government will be pleased to devise
measures for the active promotion of a project so
certain to benefit the Colony.
