GOVERNOR'S ORDER, No. 52.
Appointing Wairau, Picton, and Havelock as
Ports for the Exportation of Gold.
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY,
Knight, Commander of the Most
Honourable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, &c., &c., &c.
IN exercise of the power in me vested by
the "Customs Regulation Act, 1858,"
I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the Ports of Wairau, Picton,
and Havelock, in the Province of Marl-
borough, shall be Ports from whence Gold
may be exported from this Colony under the
Regulations contained in the Proclamation of
Colonel T. G. Browne, C.B., late Governor
of the said Colony, bearing date the 26th
January, 1860.
Given under my hand at the Govern-
ment House, at Auckland, this
Sixteenth day of June, one thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-
four.

WHEREAS it is provided by the "Militia
Acts Amendment Act, 1862," that
the number of days and hours for the
meeting of the Militia for any District for
training and exercise shall be from time to
time fixed by the Governor :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to
call out for training and exercise certain
portions of the Militia of the Militia Dis-
tricts in the Province of Wellington:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and execu-
tion of the power and authority conferred
upon me by the said recited Act, I do hereby
fix the number of days and hours during
which that portion of the Militia within the
Militia Districts in the Province of Wel-
lington which may be called out for training
and exercise within three months from the
First day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four, shall be trained and
exercised shall be one day in each fortnight
for two hours.
Given under my hand at the Government
House at Auckland, this twenty-
fourth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-four.

Colonies, is published for general information.

Downing Street, 26th April, 1864.
SIR, I have the honor to acknowledge
the receipt of your Despatch No. 21, of the
5th of February, transmitting a memorial
from the citizens of Auckland, praying that
the Queen will be pleased to interpose her
royal authority to prevent the removal of
the seat of the Government of New Zealand
from that town.
This memorial has been laid before the
Queen, and Her Majesty was pleased to
receive it very graciously.
