Colony of New Zealand and its

To all to whom these presents shall come,
Greeting:-
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of
Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor, by
Warrant under his hand, from time to time
to appoint Polling Places for each Electoral
District, within or without the limits thereof,
and to appoint any one of such Places to be
the Principal Polling Place for the District,
and all or any of such Polling Places at any
time to abolish, and to appoint other Polling
Places in lieu thereof:
And whereas the office of H. B. Huddles-
ton, C.E., Trafalgar Street, Nelson, Province
of Nelson, was appointed a Polling Place for
the Districts of the Town of Blenheim, the
Lower Wairau, Queen Charlotte's Sound,
Tua Marina, Pelorus, Upper Wairau, Wairau
Valley, Awatere, and Clarence, for the Elec-
tion of Members of the Provincial Council of
the Province of Marlborough: And where-
as it is expedient to abolish the same:
Now know ye, that I, Sir GEORGE GREY,
the Governor of the said Colony, in pursu-
annce of the power and authority in me vested
by the said Act, do hereby abolish the above-
named Polling Place for the Districts of the
Town of Blenheim, the Lower Wairau, Queen
Charlotte's Sound, Tua Marina, Pelorus,
Upper Wairau, Wairau Valley, Awatere, and
Clarence, for the Election of Members of the
Provincial Council of the said Province.
Given under my hand, at the Govern-
ment House, at Auckland, this
fourteenth day of June, in the
year of our Lord, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty-four.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the Native
Lands Act, 1862, that it shall be
lawful for the Governor from time to time by
Commission or Order in Council to constitute
a Court or Courts for the purpose of ascer-
taining and declaring who, according to
native custom, are the proprietors of any
lands, and the estate or interest held by them
therein, and for the purpose of granting to
such proprietors certificates of their title to
such lands; and it is further provided that
every such Court shall be under the Presi-
dency of a European Magistrate, and shall
have and exercise such powers as the Gover-
nor may from time to time appoint, Now, I,
Sir George Grey, the Governor as aforesaid,
in pursuance and exercise of the said recited
power and authority, do hereby appoint John
Rogan, Esq., of Kaipara, Justice of the Peace
and Resident Magistrate, Wiremu Tipene, of
Kaipara, and Matikikuha, of Kaipara, to be
a Court under the said Act in and for the
Native Land District of Kaipara South, under
the Presidency of the said John Rogan, to
have, exercise, and be subject to all such
powers, duties, and responsibilities as are
competent for or may be exercised by or
declared respecting a Court constituted under
the said Act.

under the Seal of the Colony of
New Zealand, this twenty-first
day of April, in the year of our
Lord, Oue thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four.
