and consent of the Provincial Council thereof,
and the said Ordinances were received by the
Governor on the Second day of February,
One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three:
And whereas it is expedient that the said
Ordinances should be disallowed:
Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the
Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of
the authority vested in me in that behalf by
the said recited Act of Parliament, do hereby
proclaim and declare my disallowance of the
following Ordinances passed by the Superin-
tendent and Provincial Council of the Province
of Otago, viz.:-
"The Executive Council Ordinance, 1862,"
"Sunday Observance Ordinance, 1862,"
"The Dunedin Municipal Estate Ordinance,
1862."
Given under my hand at the Govern-
ment House, at Auckland, and
issued under the Seal of the
Colony of New Zealand this
twenty-third day of February,

A PROCLAMATION
For the Naturalization of certain Persons.
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE
GREY, Knight Commander of
the most Honourable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Ma-
jesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, and Vice
Admiral of the same, &c., &c.
WHEREAS by "The Naturalization
Act, 1862," it is enacted that every
person who shall be declared to come within
the operation of that Act by any Proclamation
to be issued in that behalf by His Excellency
the Governor, shall, as from the time in such
Proclamation specified, be deemed and taken
until the termination of the next Session of the
General Assembly, to be, and to have been from
such specified time, a natural-born subject
of Her Majesty, within the Colony of New
Zealand, as fully to all intents and purposes as
if his name had been inserted in the Schedule
to that Act annexed. Provided always that
every such Proclamation shall contain the de-
scription, occupation or calling of every person
therein named, and his place of residence at
the date of such Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the
Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said
Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
persons hereinafter mentioned shall come within
the operation of the said Act from the dates
hereinafter specified, viz. :-

From the Twenty-eighth day of January,
One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three,
Native of Germany, Storekeeper, residence
Kaiapoi, in the Province of Canterbury.
JOSEPH FOSBINDER,
From the First day of July, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty-two Native of Ger-
many, Groom, residence Invercargill, in the
Province of Southland.
HEINRICH DALLWIG,
From the Twenty-fifth day of December,
One thousand eight hundred and six y, Native
of Germany, Carpenter, residence Invercargill,
in the Province of Southland.
NELSON SPAULDING,
From the First day of January, One thou-
sand eight hundred and fifty-four, Native of
America, Storekeeper, residence Onehunga, in
the Province of Auckland.

Bills.
At the Government House at Auckland, the
17th day of January, 1863.
Present:-
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the "Loan Act, 1862,"
power is given to raise in Great Bri-
tain a Loan of Β£500,000 for the Public Ser-
vice of the Colony, and it is enacted that
until the aforesaid sum of Five Hundred
Thousand Pounds shall be raised in Great
Britain, it shall be lawful for the Colonial
Treasurer, if thereunto authorised by an
