IN reference of the foregoing notice, I am
directed to state that the object the
Government have in view in calling out the
Third Class, is to provide a number of men
to do duty as patrols in and about the City,
and thus relieve the 2nd Class and Volunteers
from a part of the heavy duty now imposed
upon them. It is not proposed to drill the
men of the 3rd Class, or require them to
mount Guard, or sleep in Barracks.

IN Gazette, No. 36, dated August 6th, 1863,
folio 315, the date of Capt. Wm. Moule's
commission should be 20th July, instead of
21st July, and that of Captain Picken should
be 21st July, instead of 20th July, 1863.
Also,
In the same Gazette, folio 316, the appoint-
ment of Captain Picken, as Adjutant, should
be 21st July, instead of 20th July, 1863.
Also,
In the same Gazette, folio 316, the Christian
name of Assistant Surgeon Hooper, should be
"Clarence" instead of "Clement."
