A PROCLAMATION
For the Naturalization of Wilhelm Schafer.
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE
GREY, Knight Commander of
the most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Ma-
jesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, and Vice
Admiral of the same, &c., &c.
WHEREAS by the "The Naturalization
Act, 1862," it is enacted that every
person who shall be declared to come within
the operation of that Act by any Proclamation
to be issued in that behalf by His Excellency
the Governor, shall, as from the time in such
Proclamation specified, be deemed and taken
until the termination of the next Session of the
General Assembly, to be, and to have been from
such specified time, a Natural-born subject
of Her Majesty within the Colony of New
Zealand, as fully to all intents and purposes as
if his name had been inserted in the Schedule
to that Act annexed. Provided always that
every such Proclamation shall contain the de-
scription, occupation or calling of every person
therein named, and his place of residence at
the date of such Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the
Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said
Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
person hereinafter mentioned shall come within
the operation of the said Act from the date
hereinafter specified, viz:---
WILHELM SCHAFER,
From January, one thousand eight hundred
and fifty-nine, native of Germany, Publican,
residence Collingwood, in the Province of Nel-
son.
Given under my hand, at the Govern-
ment House, at Auckland, and
issued under the seal of the
Colony of New Zealand, this
tenth day of December, in the
year of Our Lord, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-two.

Constituting Petty Sessional Districts.
By His Excellency SIR GEORGE
GREY, Knight, Commander of
the Most Honourable Order of
the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by the "Petty Sessions Act,
1858," it was enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor from time to time, by
notice in the New Zealand Gazette to con-
stitute Petty Sessional Districts in any part of
the Colony, and such Districts to abolish, and
the boundaries thereof to define and alter as he
shall think fit.
Now, therefore I, Sir George Grey, the
Governor as aforesaid, do hereby proclaim
and notify the districts following, as Petty
Session Districts for the purposes of the Act
before recited, that is to say:---
