Despatch respecting Cabinet of New Zea-land Wood presented to the Queen.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs the
publication of the following Despatch
from Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of
State for the Colonies.

SIR,-

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt
of your despatch of the 8th April (separate),
forwarding an Address to Her Majesty from
the inhabitants of the Province of Auckland,
praying Her Majesty's acceptance of a Cabinet,
made of New Zealand woods.

I have much pleasure in informing you that
Her Majesty has signified Her intention of
making an exception in this case to the general
rule, and will accept this gratifying mark of
the loyalty of the inhabitants of the Province
of Auckland.

pleased to accept the resignation by
BINGHAM ARTHUR FERARD, Esq., of Wel-
lington, and
CHARLES MANNERS GASCOIGNE, Esq., of
Motueka, in the Province of Nelson,
of their appointments as Justices of the Peace
for the Colony of New Zealand, and has
directed their names to be removed from the
Commission of the Peace accordingly.
