purpose of being assayed the manner in which
it shall be removed for exportation and for im-
posing any conditions in order to prevent
frauds upon the revenue in respect of any gold
so brought into the said colony and for the
more effectually carrying out the provisions of
this Act with respect to such gold as last
aforesaid.

Any person who shall falsely make any
declaration or who shall fraudulently evade or
attempt to evade any of the provisions of this
Act or who shall infringe any of the regula-
tions to be made as hereinbefore mentioned
shall be liable to a penalty of fifty pounds and
the gold in respect of which such offence shall
have been committed shall be forfeited. -
No proceedings of any nature or kind
whatsoever shall be commenced or taken against
any persons who before the passing of this Act
shall have exported or advised authorized or
been privy to the exportation of any gold not
being the produce of the said colony brought
by sea from any place beyond the said colony
to any port in the said colony for or by reason
of such persons not having paid the duty on
such gold nor shall any such gold be forfeited.
