A PROCLAMATION
By His Excellency SIR GEORGE GREY,
Knight Commander of the Most
Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over Her Majesty's Colony of
New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by the "Post Office Act,
1858," it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor from time to time by
Proclamation to be published in the New
Zealand Gazette, to fix, alter, and abolish the
rates of Postage at any time payable within the
Colony for the transmission of Letters and
Newspapers by Post, either between places
within New Zea'and, or to and from places
beyond seas, and at what time the same shall
be paid, and that the Postage so made payable
shall be charged and paid accordingly: And
whereas by a Proclamation dated the twenty-
ninta day of December, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty, made in the pursuance
of the said recited power, certain rates of
postage have been fixed for the transmission of
of Letters in manner aforesaid :
Now, therefore, I, the Governor, in further
pursuance of the said power and authority, with
the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that all loose letters received at any
Post Office in the Colony, from any other part
of the Colony shall if the same be not pre-paid
be liable to a double rate of postage payable by
the person to whom the same shall be addressed.
And I do further appoint and declare that
this Proclamation shall take effect on and after
the fifteenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-two.

Appointing Limits for Port of Nelson.
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY,
Knight Commander of the Most
Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependen-
cies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same, &c., &c., &c.
IN exercise of the power in me for this pur-
pose vested by the "Customs Regulation
Act, 1858," I, Sir George Grey, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint that on and from the day of the date
hereof, the limits of the Port of Nelson shall be:
On the seaward side, a line drawn from
Section No. 45, at the Northern end of the
Boulder Bank to Section No. 92, Moutere
Bluffs, on the land sides a line drawn from
Moutere Bluffs to Sections No. 56, Moutere
Hills, thence to Sections No. 110, Waimea
West, and No. 82, Waimea East, and by a
line drawn from the last named Section to
Section No. 13, Maitai Valley, thence to
Section No. 45, above described.

Appointing Limits for Port of Dunedin.

Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over Her Majesty's Colony of
New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.
IN exercise of the power in me for this pur-
pose vested by the "Customs Regulation
Act, 1858," I, Sir George Grey, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint that on and from the day of the date
hereof the limits of the Port of Dunedin shall
be :-
Within a line drawn from Hayward Point
to the North-eastern point of the Bar at the
entrance of the Port, and thence to Tairoa
Head, including all the waters comprised in the
Harbor of Otago, together with the site of the
Town of Dunedin, and the site of the Town of
Port Chalmers, as delineated in the official
plans of the same.
