or to some one of such Inspectors And I do
hereby further notify and proclaim that the
persons at present severally holding the office
of Scab Inspector at the ports of Brisbane,
Maryborough, Gladstone, and Rockhampton,
shall be the persons to whom notice shall be
given, and of and from whom the necessary
Certificate that all Horned Cattle arriving at
the said ports are not affected as aforesaid shall
be obtained. And I do further notify and
proclaim that, in pursuance of the provisions of
the said Act, all Horned Cattle imported or
introduced into this Colony without such
Certificate, contrary to this Proclamation, may
be seized, and will thereupon be forfeited, and
may be sold as provided by the said Act; and
every person concerned in importing or in-
troducing, or in attempting to import or in-
troduce, any Horned Cattle into this Colony,
in violation of this Proclamation, will, for every
such offence, upon conviction thereof, be liable
to a fine not exceeding Fifty Pounds, and not
less than Ten Pounds, to be recovered as in
the said Act is provided.

Government House, Brisbane,
this twentieth day of January,

thousand eight hundred and
sixty-two, and in the twenty-
fifth year of Her Majesty's reign.

Sailing Directions, published by autho-
rity of the Government of Victoria, for Port
Phillip, including the Ports of Melbourne, Gee-
long, Portland, Port Fairy, and Warrnambool,
in that Colony, has been deposited at the
Custom House at Auckland and Dunedin for
general reference.

THE following Certificate and Declaration
are published in conformity with the pro-
visions of the "Execution of Criminals Act,
1858."
HENRY SEWELL.
I, Alexander Johnston, the Medical Officer
in attendance at the execution of James Col-
lins at the Gaol of Wellington, do hereby cer-
tify and declare that I have this day witnessed
the execution of the said James Collins at the
said Gaol; and I do further certify and declare
that the said James Collins was, in pursuance
of the sentence of the Supreme Court, hanged
by the neck until his body was dead.
Given under my hand this thirtieth
day of January, in the year one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-
two, at the place of execution in
the said Gaol of Wellington.

We do hereby testify and declare that we
have this day been present when the Extreme
Penalty of the Law was carried into execution
on the body of James Collins, convicted at the
Criminal Sittings of the Supreme Court held
at Wellington on the third day of December
last, and sentenced to death, and that the said
James Collins was, in pursuance of the said
sentence, hanged by the neck until his body
was dead.
Dated this thirtieth day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-two, at the place of Execu-
tion, in the Gaol of Wellington.
