THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

A PROCLAMATION
Constituting Hundreds in the Province of
Otago.

By His Excellency SIR GEORGE
GREY, Knight, Commander of
the Most Honorable Order of
the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the "Defini-
tion of Districts Act, 1858," that it
shall be lawful for the Governor, from time to
time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette, to divide the Colony into Counties,
Hundreds, Parishes, or such other divisions as
he may deem expedient, which shall have such
limits, and shall have and be known by such
names or designations as in and by the Procla-
mation constituting the same shall be pre-
scribed:

Now therefore I, George Grey, the
Governor as aforesaid, in exercise of the power
in me in this behalf vested by the said recited
Act, do hereby Proclaim and Declare as fol-
lows:-

There shall be within the Province of Otago
in the said Colony the several Hundreds,
bounded by the limits and known by the names
or designations hereunder written; that is to
say,

Waitahuna Hundred.
Comprises all that area estimated to contain
39,040 acres, bounded to the North East by a
straight line drawn from Hill End to the
junction of the scrub burn with the Clutha, to
the South East by North Tokomairiro Hun-
dred, and to the South and West by the Clutha
River.

Pomahaka Hundred.
Comprises all that area estimated to contain
46,080 acres, bounded on the North East by
Black Cleugh burn and the Clutha River, on
the East by the West Clutha Hundred, on the
South by the Pomahaka River, and on the
West by the Rankle burn and Mount Valpy
summits.

Popotuna Hundred.
Comprises all that area estimated to contain
60,160 acres, bounded on the North by the
Pomohaka river, on the East by West Clutha
Hundred, on the South by the Kaihiku Wai-
wero Kuriwau and Wairuna Ranges, and on
the West by the Wairuna Creek

And I do also proclaim and declare that the
first day of January next shall be the day from
and after which any Licenses issued under the
Otago Land Regulations at present in force,
shall cease and determine as to so much of the
land comprised therein as may be included
within the boundaries of the Hundreds herein
described respectively.

Government House, at Auckland, and issued under the
Seal of the Colony of New
Zealand, this 7th day of De-
cember, in the year of Our Lord

Excellency has been pleased to leave the same
to their operation.

Council of the Province of Marlborough,
intituled-
"The Dog Nuisance Abatement Act, 1861,"
"The Education Act, 1861,"
"An Act to repeal the alteration of Roads
Act, 1860,"
"Appropriation Act, (No. 2), 1861,"
which Bills were reserved for the signification
of the Governor's pleasure thereon, having been
laid before the Governor, His Excellency has
been pleased to assent to the same.

having been laid before the Governor, His

to their operation.
