A PROCLAMATION,
Prohibiting the Importation of Diseased
Cattle, &c., into the Colony of New
Zealand.
By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of the
most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, &c., &c., &c.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority for this purpose vested in me by
the "Customs Regulation Act, 1858," I,
Thomas Gore Browne, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the ad-
vice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Colony, do hereby proclaim and de-
clare that all Cattle and parts of Cattle are
from and after the date hereof prohibited from
being imported into the Colony, unless and
until the person desirous of importing any
Cattle or parts of Cattle shall procure and pro-
duce to the Chief Officer of Customs of the
Port at which the same are to be imported a
certificate under the hand of some person to
be appointed and authorised in this behalf by
the Commissioner of Customs or by a Super-
intendent for any Port within the Province of
which he is Superintendent to the effect that
he has examined such Cattle or parts of Cat-
tle and that they are respectively clean and
free from the disease called Pleuro Pneumonia
or from any infectious or contagious distemper
or disease.

AUCKLAND MILITIA REGULATIONS.
BY virtue, and in exercise of the authority
vested by the "Militia Act, 1858,"
and "Militia Act Amendment Act, 1860," I
Thomas Gore Browne, Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby make and issue
the following orders for the Regulation of the
Auckland Regiment of Militia.
- The Auckland Militia District, shall be
divided into three divisions the boundaries
whereof respectively shall be as follows :
The 1st Division, a line commencing at the
point where the Karangahape road crosses the
Scoria creek at a stone bridge, thence eastward
along the centre of that road to its junction with
the Cabbage-tree swamp road; thence along the
Cabbage-tree swamp road eastward to its
junction with the Mount Eden road; thence
southward along the centre of the Mount Eden
road to the junction of the scoria quarry road;
thence eastward along the centre of the scoria
