PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act
of the General Assembly of New Zea-
land, passed in the eighteenth year of the
reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and
entitled "The Marriage Act, 1854," the
following Name of an OFFICIATING MINISTER,
within the meaning of the said Act, is pub-
lished for general information:--

I, JOHN B. BENNETT, Registrar-General of
Births, Deaths, and Marriages, in New Zea-
land, do hereby certify that the foregoing
NAME of an OFFICIATING MINISTER, within
the meaning of "The Marriage Act, 1854,"
has been sent in to me, in addition to the
Names in a List published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 6, of the 31st of January, in the
present year.

Given under my hand, at Auckland,
this sixteenth day of March, 1861.

PROVINCE OF MARLBOROUGH.

I, WILLIAM ADAMS, Superintendent of
of the Province of Marlborough, in the
Colony of New Zealand, hereby give notice
that at the next sitting of the General
Assembly for the Colony of New Zealand, a
Petition will be presented on behalf of the
said Province of Marlborough, for leave to
introduce a Bill to empower the Superintendent
of the said Province of Marlborough, to con-
struct and maintain a Railway for the transport
of persons, animals, goods, produce, merchan-
dize, parties, matters, and things, leading from
the Sea at the Government Reserve at the end
of the street called High-street, in the Town
of Picton to and across the Wairau River at a
place called Gouland's Ferry, passing through

and over certain Reserves and other Waste
Lands of the Crown, and through and over
certain private lands, and along across under or
over certain Public Roads and streets within
the said Town of Picton, viz., London-quay,
High-street, Dublin-street, Broadway, Auck-
land street, Otago - street, Scotland - street,
Cambridge Terrace, Oxford-street, South
Terrace, Garden Terrace, York-street, Devon-
street, Kent-street, Durham-street, Dorset-
street, Angle or Cornwall-street, and Wairau
Road, and from the Town of Picton passing
through and over other certain Private Lands,
certain Reserves, and certain Waste Lands of
the Crown, and along across under or over the
Public Road called the Wairau Road, and other
Public Roads to the East side the Wairau
River at Gouland's Ferry aforesaid, with power
to the said Superintendent on behalf of the
said Province of Marlborough, to take and
purchase such portions of the private lands
aforesaid as may be necessary for the purposer
of the said Railway.

And notice is hereby further given that
Plans and Books of Reference showing the
proposed line of the said Railway and the
names and additions of the Owners, Lessees,
and Occupiers of such Private Lands as afore-
said, will within six weeks from this date be
deposited at the following places, viz., at the
Office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands
for the said Province of Marlborough, at the
Office of the Superintendent of the said Pro-
vince of Marlborough, and at the Office of the
Resident Magistrate, Blenheim, in the said
Province of Marlborough, and that copies of
such Plans and Books of Reference as aforesaid,
will within eight weeks from this date be
deposited at the Office of the Colonial Secretary
for the said Colony, and at the Office of the
Clerk of the House of Representatives for
the said Colony.

Dated this fourth day of March, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty-one..
