West Channel Lightship.
Notice is hereby given that on or about the
3rd of October next, the West Channel Light-
ship will be removed to Hobson's Bay for
repairs, and her place temporarily occupied
by the Swan Spit Lightship, which vessel
will exhibit two Fixed White Lights similar
to those now shown on board the West Chan-
nel Lightship.
Chequered Buoy on White Star Knoll, near the
West Channel Lightship.
The depth of water over the White Star
Knoll having increased to sixteen (16) feet,
the chequered buoy hitherto moored there
will on the 1st of October next be removed.
Vessels of heavy draught passing to the
eastward of the lightship are cautioned not
to approach within a cable's length.
Rocky Patch off the Little River.
A sunken beacon, surmounted with a red
ball fourteen feet high, has been placed in
nine (9) feet water upon the southern end of
a rocky patch situated between Point Wilson
and the Halfway Trees, about a mile off shore,
with the following bearings :-
Centre of Arthur's Seat, touching Indented
Head, S.E.
Western Hummock, Station Peak, W.N.W.
Entrance of Little River, N. by W.
Alteration of Tidal Signals, River Yarra.
Notice is hereby given that the tidal signals
hitherto hoisted on the Gellibrand's Point
flagstaff to indicate the depth of water at the
natural entrance of the River Yarra will be
discontinued from henceforth, and the depth
of water in the new approach to the Yarra
shown instead as follows:-
One blue flag ... ... ... 10 feet
One ball ... ... ... 10 1/2 "
One ball blue flag over ... 11 "
One ball blue flag under ... 11 1/2 "
Two balls ... ... ... 12 "
Two balls, blue flag under 12 1/2 "
Two balls blue flag over ... 13 "

NOTE.βAll bearings herein given are mag-
netic, and the soundings those at low water
spring tides. Variation 8Β° 45' E.

Court will sit at Auckland, on Monday the

the above Ordinance.
