assented to the said Bills.

IT is hereby notified that the Native Title
has been extinguished over the blocks of
land whereof the boundaries are mentioned
or described in the Schedule hereunto an-
nexed.

SCHEDULE.

PROVINCE OF HAWKE'S BAY.

DISTRICT OF MOHAKA.
Moeangiangi Block.
Estimated to contain about 10,000 acres.
Boundaries:—

The boundary commences at the Arakare-
kare and runs to Otumatai; thence to Wai-
taria, Pakeropeke, Mangeongeo, and on to
the river at the Paohuikai, te kai Toparapara
te Mimi o Hineaia, Mangaone, Whangaimo-
kopuna, Huruterangi, te kai a Hui kai te
Kahikatearoa, Haututerangi, te Rakauwaka-
tangitangi, te Ota, te Taraitangakaho te
Maurea, Mopakiaka te Motu ote ihu, te Ahi-
kereru, Pakaira, this is above Waipapa, then
running down Waipapa to the Sea, and by
the Sea-coast to the Arakarekare—excepting
a reserve on the East side of Morengiangi.

DISTRICT OF
Kereru Bush.
Estimated to contain about 5000 acres.
Boundaries:—

The boundary commences at Kauhanga-
piro, running on to te Mokopiro, and thence
striking in the direction of the old boundary
at Pohatukaha, running on to Otaaokoro;
thence to the source of the Poporenga, and
running down that stream to the mouth of
the Waikopiro, and following that stream till
it joins at the mouth of Kauhangapiro.

DISTRICT OF MOHAKA.
Aropawanui Block.
Estimated to contain about 3000 acres.
Boundaries:—

The boundary commences at Aropawanui,
at the termination of Epanaia's sale, running
on to Mongahinahina; thence to the Waipapa
stream; thence to the Sea, and back to Aro-
pawanui—excepting a reserve the boundaries
of which are to be determined by the Sur-
veyor appointed to mark off the land in com-
pany with the Natives.

THE following notices are published for
general information.

VICTORIA.
Department of Ports and Harbours,
Williamstown, 24th September, 1860.
Swan Spit Light.

In accordance with a notice issued from
this office, dated 7th February, 1860 :

Masters of vessels, pilots, and others navi-
gating the West Channel are hereby informed
that on and after the 1st day of October next,
from sunset to sunrise, a Fixed Red Light will
be exhibited from a new lighthouse built on
Swan Spit upon piles, and the lightship, now
moored there, removed.

The Swan Spit Lighthouse is situated on
the S.W. end of the spit, in fifteen (15) feet
at low water, two hundred and fifty (250)
fathoms off shore, with the following bear-
ings:—

Upper Light, Shortland's Bluff S. 56 W.
Royal George Perch Buoy, S. 37 W.
Fairway Beacon, on Swan Island, N. 69 W.

There are two small sand knolls outside of
the lighthouse, with not more than twelve
(12) feet of water over them, bearing respec-
tively from the lighthouse E.N.E. and S.E.
by E, distant forty (40) fathoms.

Vessels must not approach the lighthouse
nearer than sixty (60) fathoms, outside of
which distance there is a clear channel of one-
third of a mile, with three, four, and five
fathoms water.

A gong will be sounded every ten (10)
minutes during thick and foggy weather.

Caution.—All persons in charge of vessels
passing this lighthouse are cautioned against
running foul of it, and are reminded that
clause VII. of 16 Victoria No. 12 provides for
the infliction of a heavy penalty for any in-
jury done to lights, beacons, or seamarks.
