HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to
be notified that

The Hon. FREDERICK ALOYSIUS WELD
has been appointed a Member of the Executive
Council of New Zealand, and has this day taken
and subscribed the Oaths of Office.

THE following Proclamations are published
for general information.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Sir HENRY EDWARD
Fox YOUNG, Knight, Companion
of the Most Honorable Order of
the Bath, Governor-in-Chief of
the Island of Tasmania.

EXPORTATION OF ARMS AND GUNPOWDER
AND OTHER WARLIKE STORES RESTRICTED.

WHEREAS certain Aboriginal Natives of
the Colony of New Zealand are in
arms against the Queen's Sovereign Authority,
and it is therefore expedient that the exporta..
tion of Warlike Stores to such Colony should
be prevented; Now, therefore I, Sir HENRY
EDWARD FOX YOUNG, the Governor of Tas-
mania, with the advice of the Executive Coun-
cil, do hereby prohibit the exportation from any

Port or place in Tasmania of Arms, Ammu-
nition, Gunpowder, Military and Naval Stores,
or any articles that may be converted to a
Military or Naval purpose, except in the man-
ner and subject to the conditions hereinafter
mentioned or referred to; that is to say:β€”
From and after the date hereof, Arms, Am-
munition, Gunpowder, or other Warlike Stores
as aforesaid shall and may be exported only
under license in writing first obtained for that
purpose under the hand of the Colonial Trea-
surer, and only at the place, in the manner, and
subject to the conditions, if any, specified in
such License: Provided always, that nothing
in this Proclamation shall apply to the exporta-
tion of supplies for the use of Her Majesty's
Land and Sea Forces.

Given under my hand, and the
Seal of the Colony, at Hobart
Town, this thirtieth day of
April, in the year of our Lord
One thousand eight hundred
and sixty.
