Auckland, January 17th, 1860.
TENDERS will be received at the Native
Secretary's office until noon of Mon-
day, the 30th instant, for the Li-monthly
printing of the "Maori Messenger" from the
1st January to 31st December, 1860.
Security will be required for the due per-
formance of the contract, and the tender
should be accompanied by a notification of the
consent of two parties who may be proposed
as Securities.
Further particulars may be obtained on
application at the Native Secretary's Office.

Crown Lands Office,
Auckland, 17th January, 1860.
IN conformity with the 7th clause of the
"Gold Fields Act," it is hereby notified
that it is intended to grant leases for Gold
Mining purposes on the Crown Lands specified
in the following applications.
HENRY JOHN TANCRED.

No. 2.
Applicants—The Collingwood Gold Mining
Company.
Locality—Bedstead Gully.
Area—Fifty acres.
In two adjoining rectangular blocks: the
first commencing at its S. W. angle at a
marked red birch tree in Kelly's Gully; thence
running due north (Mag.) parallel with the
Bedstead Gully Stream, and at a distance of
7.50 links on either side of it, having a length
of 33.75 links, by a breadth of 15.00 links.
The second commencing at a point in the
northern boundary of the former block, 100
links east of the stream; thence running due
north, having a length of 302 links, by a breath
of 300 links.

No. 3.
Applicants—The Lightband's Gully Com-
pany.
Locality—Lightbands' Gully.
Area—Ten acres.
In a rectangular block: commencing at its
S. W. angle at a post S. 25° 30' W., 90
links from the western branch of the Light-
bands' gully stream; thence running N. 49°
W., a distance of 20.00 links, with a breadth
of 5.00 links.

No. 4.
Applicant—James McKenzie.
Locality—Jacob's Ladder; McKenzie's Hill;
Lyford's Creek.
Area—Ten acres.
In an irregular block; commencing at its
S. W. angle at a peg S.S. W., 6.75 from Lyford's
creek; thence W. N. W., 6.90 links, thence
S. S. W., 1.00 links to the Slate River; thence
along the water race and the Slate River 300

links, thence N. N. E. 1000 links, crossing
Lyford's creek at its mouth, thence E. S. E.
1000 links, thence S. S. W. 1000 links across
Lyford's creek to the starting point.

instant.
