PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of
the most Honourable Order of
the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand, and Vice-Admiral of
the same, &c., &c.
WHEREAS the lands hereinafter men-
tioned have been acquired by purchase
from the aboriginal inhabitants of New Zealand,
and it is expedient that the acquisition thereof
should be notified by Proclamation accordingly,
Now, therefore, I, the Governor, do hereby
proclaim and notify that the Native Title has
been extinguished over the Blocks of Land
whereof the boundaries are mentioned or des-
cribed in the Schedule hereunto annexed.
Given under my hand, and issued
under the Public Seal of
the Colony, at Government
House, at Auckland, this
fourteenth day of February,
in the year of Our Lord One
thousand eight hundred and
fifty nine.

SCHEDULE.
PROVINCE OF AUCKLAND.
District of Kaipara.
Paparoa Block, containing 15,021 Acres.
BOUNDARIES:
Commencing at Oruatara on Paparoa River,
follows the boundary of Matakohe Block to
Te Ngutu Kai-Kiwi, Otara, Matakohe, Poanau
on to Waitarore, it then proceeds in an Easterly
direction bearing 251° 0',—133,32 links 296
0',—460 links, 251° 0'—253, 70 links crossing
Te Ange Ange 220° 39',—234 links, 276
54',—6,243 links on to Otupua, it then runs in
a Southerly direction bearing 358°50'—20,600
links crossing Waikopikopiko, Pakaraka 24°
33',—15,600 links crossing Whakataka te Wai,
and proceeding on to Te Pahi. It there
follows the waterside of Te Pahi Whakata-
katewai, Pohutu, Motu, Ngapewa, Taikare-
kare, Whakaruku, Aute, Te Makaka, Wai-
ngarara, Omarae, Te Rangeora, it then follows
the water-side of Paparoa to Waipao, Kauri-
wakaporo, Tapuaharuru, Herimata, and on to
Oruatara to the point of commencement.
Excepting one Native Reserve within the
above purchase called Tutaimokanoa, containing
by survey 78 acres, 0 roods, 0 perches.
DISTRICT OF BAY OF ISLANDS.
Houkotuku Block, containing 255 acres.
BOUNDARIES:
Commencing at Opihi and bounded by a
line running due South to Houkotuku on the
Kaitaia river 9764 links, it then proceeds in a
