FRIDAY, JUNE 3, 1859.
W HEREAS by the "Militia Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that a Justice of the
Peace to be appointed in every Militia District
by the Governor, shall in the month of March
in every year, call a Special Meeting of the
Justices of the Peace residing within such dis-
trict for the purpose of forming a Militia List.
And it is provided that it shall be lawful for
the Governor from time to time by notice
published in the New Zealand Government
Gazette to vary the months appointed for the
preparation of such lists:
Now, I, Thomas Gore Browne, the Go-
vernor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance of the said power, do hereby appoint
that such Special Meeting of the Justices of
the Peace residing within the Napier Militia
District shall be held in the month of June
next, instead of the month of March, one
thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.
As witness my hand this thirty-
first day of May, one thou-
sand eight hundred and fifty-
nine.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL
COME, GREETING:
W HEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly, intituled "The Regulation
of Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that it
shall be lawful for the Governor by Warrant
under his hand, from time to time, to appoint
Polling Places for each Electoral District
within or without the limits thereof, and to
appoint any one of such places to be the
Principal Polling Place for the District, and all
or any of such Polling Places at any time to
abolish, and to appoint other Polling Places in
lieu thereof.
Now know Ye, that I, Thomas Gore
Browne, the Governor of the said Colony, in
pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested by the said Act, do hereby appoint the
undermentioned places to be Polling Places for
the respective Districts hereinafter specified for
the Election of Members of the House of Re-
presentatives, namely:
For the Town of Dunedin District,-
The Court house, Dunedin
For the Dunedin Country District, --
At Dunedin-The Court-house
At Port Chalmers-The School-house
At Anderson's Bay-The School-house
At North-East Valley-The School-house
At East Taieri-The School-house
At West Taieri- The School-house
At Tokomairiro-The School-house
At Waihola-The School House
At Clutha-The School-house
At Warepa-The School-house
At Toie-toies-Dr. Richardson's Station
At Popotuna-Mr. Steele's House of Ac-
commodation
At Hawksbury Bush-Mr. Beale's House
of Accommodation
At Otepopo-Mr. Fenwick's Station
At Oamaru-The Premises of H. C. Herts-
